Top 5 proudest moments as an American

1. November 4th, 2008 - never thought the day would come. We partied hard and popped bottles in my dorm. The scene was unreal. People hugged, laughed and cried
2. January 20th, 2013 -- I didn't believe it was real until Obama was reelected. Seeing the dreams of the enslaved manifested in him brought an unmatched sense of pride and patriotism to my heart.
3. January 20th, 2017 -- although it was bittersweet, seeing this first family, with all its class and grace, leave the WH made me even prouder of that passport. They did it the right way and had no major scandals and went high when their opposition went low. He's a model example for all young people and I can't wait to tell my seeds about how I was alive to witness the greatest president in 50 years. He walked out a Giant as we let in a peasant.
4. Saddams statute falling -- although the Iraq invasion is questionable, seeing an oppressed group of people topple their dictator, with our help, in that fashion made me prouder to be an American. Clearly, it hasn't turned out as we have liked, but the opportunity to share that feeling of freedom with another group of people was uplifting.
5. When obama said "If I had a son, he would look like Travon." -- this ressonants with me because it feels like it was the first time an American president explicitly reached out to an oppressed class and said "I can truly empathize with your plight." That comment alone triggered me to join his "my brothers keeper" initiative, that I am a member of to this day. I felt like he was speaking to me and my unborn seed in that moment and countless others do too. It made many feel like this America thing is ours too and he has given a lot of young boys a person to aspire to be.
Those are my 5. 4 and 5 are interchangeable. What are your 5?

And this followed with the BLM movement and innocent cops getting shot.
If you're really proud of this, then you should be ashamed of yourself.
