The Israeli Ministerial Committee for Legislation will discuss, Sunday, a bill that would prohibit the documentation of Israeli soldiers’ human rights violations against Palestinian citizens.
On Thursday, Israel Hayom explained that the chairman of Yisrael Beiteinu bloc in the Knesset, Robert Ilatov, proposed the bill with the support of his party’s leader, Israeli Defence Minister Avigdor Lieberman.
The bill states, “anyone who shoots a video or a photo, or records soldiers while they are doing their job, with the aim of disturbing the morale of soldiers and citizens, will be sentenced to five years imprisonment. In case this is done with the aim of destabilising the state’s security, the perpetrator will be sentenced to ten years imprisonment.”
Israeli MP Ilatov asserted that his proposal comes as part of an attempt to respond to the movement of left-wing activists in exposing Israeli practices against Palestinian citizens in the West Bank and the Gaza Strip.
He justified his proposal by saying,
"Israel has long been facing a disturbing phenomenon; that of the documentation of Israeli army soldiers, by video shooting or audio recordings by organisations that are hostile to Israel and supportive of the Palestinians..." He added, “It is unreasonable for an activist or leftist organisation, supported by a foreign entity, to be granted the freedom to document soldiers while doing their duties."

I could care less about the Israelis shooting, burning or just absolutely wiping the Palestinians out, or vice versa. Just leave us out of it.

Personally, I would suggest researching common anti-Semitic claims, and then researching their veracity.

Does this logic apply to other historically persecuted groups?

That's just not how Israel works

You've got to be fricking kidding me, Hail. That is absolutely absurd.
Can Irishmen kill Englishmen with impunity? Can Armenians kill Turks with no recourse? Can ethnic Russians kill Jews without consequence?
Historical grievances are not a precedent or justification for violence. Good Lord.

I just don't care. I have spouted off about Israel on here before and the post was wiped clean as a whistle asap.
I am no NAZI and I do not like the Islamist side either but sooner or later they just need to get it on and wipe one or the other out and keep us out of it.
The USA just needs to butt out of this one and let the two bullies fight it out. Should have been done long ago in my opinion.

Bc truthfully, most of us don’t care about Palestinians. We’re ready for them to move on to a Muslim country and let the Jews have their little Israeli state and everyone can finally shut up about it.
Many of us do care about Britain and Western Europe.

Well can you blame them? The left’s Job is to capture pictures that purposefully make the Israeli Troops look like blood thirsty savages while humas looking like Boy Scouts. The left and globalists created this with their dishonest reporting. The left spins everything based on their agenda rather than just reporting facts and letting the people decide for themselves.

The Israelis could propose the same law in our own Congress and a sizeable percentage of our politicians and population would support it, because they care more about Israel than their own country and because they equate opposing the policies of Israel to anti-Semitism, which is insane.

A double tragedy actually, forcing a conscripted soldier to do his governments dirty work, not a long term model.

I would have to believe their rationale is to discourage people from deliberately inciting and then recording acts of reprisal. Still disagree with the position of the Israeli government.

The conscripted soldiers are largely willing participants in the ethnic cleansing and genocide. (Some have spoken out against it.)
Duty in the occupied territories shooting kids with rocks and abusing civilians isn't causing some PTS that would justify the crimes committed.
That said the average Isreali is not as cruel and criminal in intent as your average American Evangelical.
