We can always circle back to the historic roots of transgenderism around the globe. That’s easy . But now, rather than evade the simple question I asked you, just utilize the Western tradition we both hold so dear and defend your position with a factually persuasive answer . Did a lot of reading about this, because of a similar thread some time back. The bottom line is the Liberty wasn’t supposed to be where it was, and wasn’t where we were telling people it was, which caused it to be mis-identified and attacked.
The Israel haters have been making hay out of it ever since. Always makes me wonder if any of them realize that they act exactly like Hezbollah, Hamas, and the PLO by clinging to a wartime friendly fire accident for dear life. Most here can’t name a single American who lost their life in the attack without looking it up. Should tell you something.

Israel has done some supremely lousy things over the years, and a huge part of their defense mechanism is to label all criticisms as "anti-Semitic."

I’m not. I’m not even saying they didn’t possibly identify it as American. I’m saying the fact that the Liberty was absolutely not supposed to be where it was, and was absolutely not where we were telling them it was, made them doubt the American identification and attack. Pretty simple.

I'm a big supporter of Israel 90% of the time but there is simply no excusing the Liberty incident. They clearly knew it was a US ship and they were trying to jam frequencies to sink it and blame it on Egypt. They wanted the US to get involved in the 6 Day War. Israel has done this and some other really crappy things to us in terms of spying and selling out tech. It's important to remember that in the end they are on Israel's side and not ours. Most of the time that is the same thing but not always.
