Tennessee doing good work against all the COVID nonsense.

quote:
The final bill said government entities cannot force private businesses to institute a mask mandate or COVID-19 vaccination mandate, and private businesses cannot take action against an employee for not receiving the vaccine and cannot compel an employee or visitor to show proof of vaccination.
quote:
A principal would need to request the action, and the state would need to have a health emergency declared along with a rolling 14-day average of 1,000 cases per 100,000 residents. In that case, a school could institute a 14-day mask mandate and would be required to provide children age 12 or older with an N95 mask, along with “age-appropriate” masks for children younger than 12.
quote:
A local health entity or official, mayor, governmental entity, or school does not have the authority to quarantine a person or private business for purposes of COVID-19

I’ve talked about this with friends - TN is my country now. - and I’m thankful I live here. Lee has done a great job for the most part with all of this.

FORD cried this past week and the bill gutted. Not listing highlights. To many to list.

All states need this and all American citizens need protections in place for the abuse of emergency powers.

Mee maw isn't exactly a trailblazer like Desantis... but she usually follows his lead which is better than a lot of states. not saying I wouldn't prefer a stronger governor in the least.. but at least they're joining in the fight with our AG filing for a stoppage of the contractor mandate. probably because that would be a huge blow to our economy not to mention the overall readiness of the country. why would potato head want to severely compromise our military and other defensive capabilities??? I've got my theories...

Be careful Nashville doesn’t turn Tennessee into the next Illinois or Virginia

Lee is all about business and himself. He refused to call this special session for months and instead provided weak EOs that he knew would be tied up in court. The legislator had to call this special session to push these basic rights through, because Lee was too weak. This all should have been handled months ago.
I will never vote for Lee again after this

So when does the governor sign it?
This will be the first state with standing to go to the courts with a 10th amendment argument.

I grew up in Alabama but now live in Tennessee. The rural areas are beautiful and the people share my values. I drove past a sign today that said "This is Trump country." Someone altered it to say " This is still Trump country. "
