If you blame Walz for not provided security then the Texas republicans need to be blamed for not taking action to put up a warning system on the river near Camp Mystic when requested.
Terrible things happen. Walz is terrible. But he is not to blame for an insane person’s actions.

Nobody is blaming two step Tim.

However the people talking about how to reduce the possibility of it happening in the future have a point .

Open enrollment you fricking clown is my children are free to attend any school in the state regardless of district I reside in.

Happens to be a thing.

That's any public school in my state my kid can attend.

However I can also enroll them in a private school.

A mandatory requirement is my child must attend school.

No, but according to a quick Google search it seems like it's fairly common for states to subsidize private schools in various ways.

(Since 77% of teachers in America are women, it's one way that society shows how much it values women and children.)

With it being as common as it seems to be and with it obviously having been a reasonable request—since they just got shot up and children were killed because they didn't get it—I'm not sure you can stand on political philosophy to justify it.

In what ways does the government fund private security for private organizations?
Programs like the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP) provide money to religious institutions, schools, hospitals, and other nonprofits to enhance physical security. Utilities, ports, airports, and chemical plants get funds through DHS, FEMA, or the Department of Energy for security. For major events (Super Bowl, political conventions, international summits), governments often supplement private security, integrating it with police/FBI operations.

As pointed out, the parents also paid school tax.

Your position is that only school children who attend government schools deserve to be protected with taxpayer proceeds? Law enforcement should be withdrawn from all but government entities? Even though private school parents pay a disproportionately higher percentage of taxes? Interesting. Not intelligent or wise or well thought out or even sentient, but interesting.

Aslking for something that you already pay isn't "Big Government". It's a local issue. Governor Walz likes dead childrem. He even admitted to being " Best friends with school shooters." on the dsbate stage.

My position is that public money should not fund overhead for private organizations.

ETA: this is the difference between being principled and being guided strictly by emotion.

Lol. You really can't think.

Forevermore this board will remember that time the tranny murdered the Catholic kids and the board LadyProg who supports every single government expenditure under the sun no matter how wasteful, couldn't wait 24 hours to start fuming about Catholic children receiving the same taxpayer-funded law enforcement protection that children in public schools get?

That said, glad we've established that your absolute threshold for protecting the lives of children, is not equal protection or risk or tax skin in the game, but whether or not their parents sent them to Government schools or not. I look forward to watching you attempt to play this out to its logical conclusion in your head.

Do you support planned parenthood getting special police protection like it often does?

Not sure what it’s like at other Catholic schools but my kids attend one in our town and we fund our own security through tuition and various fundraiser events that we have throughout the year. They carry and are trained annually on active shooter drills in both the school and church. Not sure why a school in a city the size of Minneapolis couldn’t afford to raise the funds to do the same.
