You can be fiscally conservative and think its not the government's job to legislate morals
This makes no sense.
Every single law ever created is based on some type of morality or ethics.
Even fiscal ones.
All we vote on are whose morals we will use.
John Adams is the one who said (paraphrasing) democracy only works for a religious people. It is inadequate for another group of people.
So my thought? Thanks to the RR for being decent enough to uphold our democracy for 250 years. Don’t fall for the lies of the left.
And there has literally NEVER been a push for an institutional theocracy in America by the RR. I can’t even begin to fight a dumb argument like that because I don’t know what to argue against. Maybe individuals had ideas but there is nothing codified into a moment

Essentiallly our Constitutional Republic was built on Christian values. That's the rock that allowed us to get to where we are, but it's being chipped away at and will topple eventually if we don't stop it.
We definitely need to fight the left and atheist that attack the Christian Culture (CC) we live in. Even Richard Dawkins has come out acknowledging the importance of CC, and where we are heading if we continue to let it be eroded.
We can't continue to let the left diminish CC in our nation by allowing their evil to emerge or allowing more muslims into our nation.
They both try to throw out that we want a Christian theocracy which of course is gaslighting. We can't keep letting them extend our the guardrails that keep us civil. Christian guardrails is what keeps us civil and on the right path for God personally and as a nation.

Republican Christian leaders supported civil rights.
Yes, of course there were people of all beliefs that supported Civil Rights back in the 1940s and 1950s. That group eventually gained a majority and our Society of Ordered Liberty evolved.

Goldwater loved him some Shekels being Jewish and all. He was not a pacifist regarding foreign policy. He was a states' rights champion.
For eons preachers have been telling their parishioners how to vote. That was long before Goldwater was in the public eye.

I identify as more of an authoritarian. Democracy only works when the constituents are people of high caliber. When morality takes a back seat to secularism and false idols, then democracy leads to communism.
I know people will draw the comparison with the likes of past fascists, but we need a Marcus Aurelius. Stoicism is greatly needed.
whats annoying me most right now is that you don’t even know enough to understand how embarrassing this is. you’re too dumb to know you’re dumb. you clearly think theres a straight line between authoritarianism and Aurelius, presumably because he was an emperor, and it is laugh out loud stupid.
you: "I identify as more of an authoritarian."
Aurelius: "If you govern, do so with the best of intentions and for the sake of the governed, not as if driven by tyranny or the wish to wield power."
you people have got to stop getting your education from facebook memes, it is excruciating to watch.
quote:
Stoicism is greatly needed.
The philosophical framework of stoicism is the cosmopolis. it says we exist to help one another, we are all connected, we all have value, and we have shared responsibilities as citizens of the world
It’s globalism, you fricking dunce.
Aurelius: “If it is not right do not do it. If it is not true do not say it.”
Aurelius: “Kindness is invincible.”
You would hate Aurelius and it would be mutual. And he’d absolutely loathe someone as needy, vain, stupid, and selfish as trump.
"Fame is empty, honor and recognition are nothing, life is short."

Doing what is best for people is not necessarily what you think it means.
I also said "more of an authoritarian." It is possible to be a benevolent person and still govern with austere principles.

Again. You are using the surface level interpretation of helping. A hand up is not the same as a handout. You seem to believe someone like, Aurelius, would have advocated for the latter and not the former.
Teaching people self-control and to accept things as they are and to adapt to the situation is not the same as globalism.

You would hate Aurelius and it would be mutual.
We would get along just fine, because we live by the same principles.

I’m Catholic, yet I have to say that those snake handler holiness churches in Appalachia are based, or crazy, not sure which.
Nothing more based than handling a 4’ timber rattler

The Christian right would be fine so long as they focused on themselves living a Christian life and didn't think everyone else needs to. Those who think church and politics mix are a danger to our country and our freedom from someone else's religion ruling our lives.
Im atheist because religion is bronze age superstition that stomps the brakes on human progress, it is a scourge that does immeasurable harm everywhere it goes.
Jesus however seems great. the guy in the bible is great, hes a great guy, if christians actually lived the way he told them to, I would be elated, its how I try to live my life. if Im wrong about heaven I will still take my chances at getting in over joel osteen or any evangelical. by all means Peter, roll the tape, lets see which one of us called immigrants "vermin"

How can you be a conservative and not be a social conservative?
You can’t.
Conservatism isn’t about “lower taxes.” Lower taxes simply flow from the foundational ideas of conservatism.

Atheism is for the weak pussies who are an arrogant oligarchy of those who happen to be walking around.

I have not ever once heard a pastor tell congregants how to vote. Most people who say this are either 1) godless heathens who’ve never been in a church or 2) have horrible morals that they disagree with a local pastor on.

Honestly, they seem like such farces of conservatives aside from the abortion issue. Or the other issues they bring into the Republican Party like contraception, shekels for Israel, the Ten Commandments, school prayer, or anything related to sex. Look at Mike Landry and Mike Johnson. Are those seriously good conservatives to you?
It’s sad when people benefiting from living in a country whose foundation and reason they even have liberty is because of Christian principles are complaining about people in said country being “too Christian”. People so lack critical thinking skills these days. It would be funny if it wasn’t so tragic.

You should visit black churches during election time.
