Would this board be in such a frenzy over this if Griner had been left out and the swap was Viktor Bout for Paul Whalen? I suspect there would still be “outrage” so as to not given Biden any credit, but I doubt it would be to this level.

The comments about Griner today on this board is what I found comical and I’ve said that repeatedly. The melt would not be anywhere near this level if literally anyone else was involved but she protested the anthem one time so she hates America according to y’all.
And let’s calm down on how much damage this dude will be capable of. He’s been in custody over a decade but he’s gonna suddenly help Russia in Ukraine? That’s laughable.

It’s just being practical. You think he still has close contacts who will work with him after over a decade in US custody? Or that’s there’s even groups who need weapons that can’t get them from Russia/China/or us?
