From the CNN story this morning (which I will not link):

quote:

Ramirez was initially hesitant to speak publicly, she told the magazine, partly because her memory contained gaps because she had been drinking at the time of the alleged incident. She was unsure of his role in the incident at first, but after six days of carefully assessing memories and consulting with her attorney, Stan Garnett,Ramirez told The New Yorker she felt confident enough in her recollections to say she remembers it was Kavanaugh who had exposed himself.

There is a point when both parties should unite against this kind of baseless nonsense. And that point is well behind us by now.

You clearly don't understand how serious these made-up accusations are.

They already have united. I thought this was obvious.

Just look at all that Congress has allowed in the past years that should have ended in some sort of prosecution or punitive measures and had zero consequences.

Even if true, the definition of harrassment contains the term “unwelcome.” That means unwelcome at the time. Recollecting back to something from 35 years ago and now calling it harrassment is not in fact harrassment if what he did wasn’t unwelcome at the time.

This is an important point as this latest allegation contains nothing to suggest the behavior caused this woman any harm. If someone likes to be handcuffed in the act but then later has a religious conversion and gives up that activity, they can’t claim that the prior welcome acts of handcuffing constitute harrassment because they are opposed to them now.

Blumenthal will say she is clearly a credible accuser.

Unite? They keep escalating. I hope Republicans actually escalate more. We need to resolve this and you don't when the other side wants capitulation.

Isn't this a criminal matter?

Will there need to be a line up in order for Ms. Ramirez to confirm the actual member presented to her for viewing?

They don't want to press charges, but they want an investigation. I bet smart people can figure out why that is.

I wouldn't mind if every lawyer was killed to make the earth a better place.
