He is correct. If my kid is on a team whose players do that we would peacefully protest by leaving the field and the team.

Unfortunately football, basketball, NASCAR, etc. aren’t looking too much better.

If I am Roger Goddell, I negotiate with the woke players with an idea:

Opening day, 8 minute and 46 second moment of silence

Stand for the national anthem.

The former is far more effective and if followed with everyone standing, would be massively unifying.

That would be an incredible show. You'd probably even get those in the stands to join in support. Either before or after the anthem, with the anthem time being respected.

However, the point isn't to bring us together; it is to divide us.

Together, the money supply shuts off for the dividers in every movement.

How far are we allowed to take this? Will all these “woke” kneelers put their money where their mouth is and support secession?

I think that’s the theoretical, Fort Sumter question.
And I’m not talking about girls on a soccer field.

Sigh -- I think my youngest (19 1/2)would kneel especially if peers were. My older two? No way (almost 28 and almost 23).

They've all been taught the same so in my eyes not really a reflection on me but more of on her.

What if I am a paying fan and don’t want to be silent for 8:46?

Lol, Not at your idea but T the idea players will stand for the anthem. Good luck with that. I think it’s clear that in keeping with this Maoist movement, that they are absolutists.

Fair enough!

And who knows? Maybe she’d surprise you.

It’s easy to “be brave” when it’s following the crowd. Brave is standing up for what you believe in even when it’s not popular and knowing you’ll get heat for it.

You got that right. I wonder if that player will be doxxed or shamed on social media as we have seen in similar situations. If these drones truly believe in “social” justice and diversity, they will defend such stances even if they disagree with it.

LINK ]Alexi Lalas deletes and apologizes for tweet about NWSL players kneeling for anthem....

On Saturday, the NWSL made its return to the field with the backdrop of the pandemic and the nationwide protests against systemic racism and police brutality clearly evident. And before the games, players from every team unified in protest and kneeled for playing of the national anthem.

By this point — nearly four years after Colin Kaepernick first kneeled during the national anthem — the message should be clear. It’s not an anti-military/anti-American demonstration but rather a peaceful protest to bring attention to real problems in the country.

That message was still lost on former U.S. soccer player and current Fox analyst Alexi Lalas. He tweeted that it took courage to actually stand for the anthem, which woefully missed the point and had many calling out Lalas for the tone-deaf tweet:

The backlash over the tweet eventually had Lalas trending on Twitter. And come early Sunday morning, Lalas deleted the tweet and issued an apology. He said that he was “sorry for any hurt or anger it caused.”

If the players/agents were smart, they would stand. They will make a lot more money in the long run. Feigned patriotism is better than this crap.

Hope she enjoyed it. Unfortunately she’ll be off the team before the next game.

EKG idk. She's in favor of monuments being relocated -- she goes to Ole Miss (yeah I know but she's happy and they're not flipping out like LSU) and there was a move and decision to relocate a Confederate statue from on campus to the Confederate cemetery. She admitted when I asked had she ever even noticed the statue and CARED and she said she'd never noticed statues but is learning "inclusivity" (um, we taught her that as well) but at least she's not out there tearing them down.

That said, she LOVES Aunt Jemina syrup and doesn't agree with the name change. She also LOVES The Office so idk what to make of it all. She's anti Biden due to his ideas so I guess we went right somewhere.

let's just say I pray an AWFUL lot.

YES.
He hears you, sis.

Much of what you’re seeing from her is likely her age.
Hang in there ... this, too, shall pass.

Preach.
Why should I stand for George Floyd?
I’m sorry his life was a mess.
But that’s where my involvement (e.g., sympathy) ends.
