There seems to be a little bit of fire with the latest double murder. People are pissed off and actually starting to demand something be done and asking the right questions about what is going on in the city.

Percy King, the Snake Man, was gunned down in his front yard in the middle of the day last week. He brought joy to thousands of children with his exotic animals. He had a passion for it. He would do birthday parties for the suburban kids with parents that could pay and do them for the inner city kids that couldn't pay.

My daughter's favorite memory of Mr. Percy is that during one of his animal shows, he put a parrot on the principal's head and told the children to clap. He then said "He poops when he hears applause!" which cracked up a ton of 1st and 2nd graders.

People are calling for a gun ban.

Won't work, per the Supreme Court. Can't ban guns.

Probably. But Im on a task force that has been charged with really studying what Birmingham did circa 2002. In some ways, Birmingham was worse off than Jackson is.

The Two Lakes Plan is going to be back later this year.

Good luck with that. The same people who are upset will continue to vote for politicians who appease criminals.

Jackson, MS is like 80% black. Statistics show that unless you can find some way to reduce that percentage to less than 40%, then there really is not a lot of hope.

When I return home to visit my parents in MS, except for the sports and weather, the entire newscast is about murders by blacks.

If the leaders of the black community have no serious interest in addressing the problems of their own community, why should the people that they call racists?

Birmingham has never been anywhere close to as bad as Jackson is. Jackson is past gone.

That is false

Starting in 2015 Birmingham's murders skyrocketed and have increased each year. That is one of the main reasons that William Bell is no longer Mayor.

Yeah, I get the B'ham crime issues, but the city has never been close to as bad as Jackson has become.

The problem is that all metro cities have the same crime issues that no one will address because it's racist to even whisper what the problem is.

Doesn’t Jackson have a BLM type young mayor who wants to penalize white businesses?
