One of the most idiotic things ever said in human history. Nevermind all of our organs and millions upon millions of cells which have tiny factories working inside of them, and all the complexity. Oh, and that thing called a soul.
A robot will never know how to think. It will only "know" what people feed into it's database. But, sure, skin is the one thing that makes us human.

Who said anything about putting skin on a robot is what makes it human?
ETA: Never mind, I realize you took that from the person in the X post. Yeah, I don't mean to endorse anything some random says on X about it. I only used the X post because it's easier to bring the information over to here. Otherwise I would have had to pull up the relevant links that I can't embed on this website and then share the images manually. Being able to embed X posts may mean sharing information from people whose opinions I don't necessarily endorse, but want to pass along their information anyways. If that makes sense.

They're touting "DNA", but all it is is skin. Which I am completely opposed to even that, but there is way more to being human than cloning skin.

Edited. And yes, it uses human DNA. The skin is made from living human skin cells. So it does use human DNA.

I do realize that, it's just that there's a whole lot of DNA missing when all you have is skin. They're oversimplifying what it is to be human, is my point.
edit- And, as I said before, you also need a soul. DNA, even if you have all of it, is not about to be "the one thing" that makes us human.

We are splitting hairs now, but this isn't true. The DNA found in the skin cells is the exact same as the DNA found in brain cells. And every cell throughout the human body.
The distinction you're trying to make is the soul, or lack thereof. But my question is, once it gets to a certain level, how can you tell in a face to face interaction? You can't. As stated in the OP, it will soon get to the point where you won't be able to tell the difference between your neighbor and an AI driven NPC. And this isn't gullibility. This is where the science and the research is actually headed.
The question of the soul is a question for the man above.

This seems like a case of being argumentative for the sake of being argumentative with me.
One doesn't simply produce DNA, and poof, there's everything you need. The way the cells in the body read DNA differently to make up other body parts is not something you can replicate in a robot. And as for straight up cloning, we know that has been done with animals, but it always comes with defects.
But you seem hung up on trying to prove to me that it doesn't matter either way, because no matter what, it's a big deal. Well where have I disputed that? I said I was entirely against it, because I am. I am against any form of cloning, and I am against AI. My point was strictly that the tweet was dumb for saying they'd given robots the one thing that makes us human.
And why is the soul a question for "the man above", as you put it? It's not a question at all, because God has already answered it. He set humans apart from all other living creatures for a reason, and our soul is the greatest differentiating factor.
No person can understand what it is to be human, or have any meaning in life, if they don't start from the word of God.
