They can’t prove anything. It is also a really stupid situation to go after him about. It would look really bad for the Dems imo

It couldnt possibly look any more pathetic than Trump did today

Me too. Though Flynn only worked for Trump for 25 days...after he was sworn in. So I don’t know how anything he did would be tied to the Trump campaign.

Couldn’t it be that he was actually facing far more serious crimes (e.g., working as a foreign operative), and those crimes were part of something far more serious which required the costs and involvement to plea down to something minor? If true, that doesn’t mean Trump himself has any criminal involvement, but that would still mean that the investigation itself could be quite justified, regardless of who it actually implicates.

I think this was addressed on The Story with Martha Macallum & Alan Dershowitz where they said Flynn got the raw end of the deal b/c Trump allegedly said to Comey "he's really not that bad, can ya go easy on him" all the while being lambasted for it and then Mueller turns around and says to the sentencing judge "he's really not that bad, can ya go easy on him" and it's completely OK & acceptable. Basically Dershowitz was eluding to the fact that Flynn's actions REALLY weren't that bad. But who knows.

Didn't Obama pay a fine for campaign finance violations? Who cares. Get this Russia myth out of the news cycle.

He and others may have been using their connections, either to the campaign or the administration (or in his case, his position in it), to commit the crimes.

When Trump tweeted that the NYT’s article from January 2017 about the monitoring of those who were previously part of his campaign (Page, Manafort, etc.) meant they were spying on him, I argued that Trump misinterpreted that and the investigation (and spying) may have nothing to with Trump himself.

I still think this is a good possibility, but Trump hasn’t helped himself by continuously ranting that he’s the target of a witch-hunt, especially since his actions led to the special counsel appointment. His detractors use that paranoia as evidence of guilt, and it’s not hard to see why, even though it’s not actually evidence of guilt.

So, they’re going to spend 40 million dollars and get a campaign violation that is nothing more than a 100k fine?

Only the democrats could see that as a win.

Let's hope so. I think it will depend on who the new AG is. Hopefully BB is a straight arrow and not a swamp protector.

Obama broke campaign finance laws and his campaign was fined.

I hope they try this.

What a crock of shite that would be. Is there probably some sketchy stuff from the campaign? probably. But there absolutely was from the Obama and Hillary campaign also. The funniest part would be watching liberals act like campaign finance violations are the end of the world

That'll be quite a trick, considering ti was Trump's own money to begin with.
