This primary season has seen *a ton* of rural republicans who oppose school choice lose their seats to challengers. These incumbents were heavily funded by teachers union goons

Idaho:

quote:

BREAKING: Idaho House District 13B Republican Primary

Kenny Wroten:* 36%
Steve Tanner: 46%

Kenny Wroten was supported by the teachers union and voted against school choice.

Steve Tanner supports school choice.

He won by 10 points.

Kentucky:

quote:

BREAKING: The two Kentucky "Republicans" receiving the most money from the teachers unions just lost their elections by more than 40 points tonight.

Their opponents who won support school choice.

Killian Timoney: Lost by 44 points
C. Ed Massey: Lost by 48 points

Bloodbath.

The amount of rural republicans losing their primaries after taking union bribes and voting against school choice bills is a welcome thing to see.

Anyone with common sense knows Biden didn’t win and the majority that hate Trump on the left and right are a very small percentage. Everyone also knows education isn’t what it once was. Public schools are brainwashing centers for the leftist.

I will never vote for any candidate supported by teacher unions or the AFGE. Public sector unions are actively negotiating against taxpayers' interests and have no damn business involving themselves in political campaigns.

There is a downside to school choice. I work in a public school in a high socio-economic area. 80% of our serious, violent discipline issues are out of district school choice kids.

35 years ago, conservatives were against bussing students out of district.

It's a weird turn in some ways until you realize that for-profit charter/private schools are funding the propaganda and candidates for school choice.

This is why public schools as they exist today should go away. Run a school like a private school. If a kid is disruptive, punish him. If he continues, kick him out. Permanently.

Impossible.
Private schools excel because they select their student body.

Public schools take everyone.
A blind student adds $100k per year for faculty.
Students with disabilities affecting their mobility can be even more expensive.

No one on the internet cares to consider why there are differences in public and private. They just shite on the public and argue for idiotic policies like school bussing (which was considered the worst idea 35 years ago).

My public school system closed March 17th 2020.
Reopened for fall semester. 100%.
Once we knew what covid was, we knew that we needed to get kids back in school.

Tell me about private schools in your area. Because EVERY one in Georgia was online in fall 2020

What do you think school choice means?

You are taking kids out of district.

Did you see the original post that I responded to?
Are you clueless what you are arguing for?

You're an angry loon.

Forced bussing from 35 years ago has no comparison to choosing a new school today. Also, I have no problem saying you only get bus service to your local school.

You are focused on "the bus"

That is low level IQ.
The problem with school bussing was not the bus.

If you want to go to the school in the nice suburb, you have to be able to afford to live in the nice suburb.
Taking out of district kids into that nice suburban school WAS the problem. Parents spent a shite load of money to get into that school district.
Parent spent extra money supporting the school programs.
And kids from less economic means (I.e no father in the home) were joining that school district in a 1980s form of DEI.

What do you think school choice is advocating?
