The White House is Establishing a "UAP Science Advisory Council"

It will be led by Harvard physicist Avi Loeb and their focus is extraterrestrial life. Loeb was tasked to lead this council by the AARO, the ODNI, and the FBI.
This is being proactively announced by Loeb himself and hasn't been officially announced by the White House yet, but Loeb is credible enough that this should be considered legit. Aside from being a physicist at Harvard, here is his experience with the federal government.
Former member of the President’s Council of Advisors on Science and Technology (PCAST), former chair of the National Academies’ Board on Physics and Astronomy, and a prolific Harvard researcher. He has long advocated for rigorous scientific study of UAPs via the Galileo Project (independent observatories, open data, etc.).
This is a good development. This guy wants the truth out there. Putting him in an advisory role for this is a good call, imo.

I'm of the camp that believes the government is ran by professionals - and a lot of them - that are capable of focusing on many things at once. Further, I also believe this is important. Many other people feel the same way.

Generally I would agree with this but this administration (namely Trump) can't seem to get any one thing done properly. Or at least to my standards.

Ok, well in that case I'll tell ya what I typically tell folks in this situation. I'll run it up the chain and let Trump know his government isn't performing up to tigerdroppings user theballguy's standards. Will update the thread for you with his response, provided I receive one.

Our government is a shitshow. It was a shitshow 3 years ago, 7 years ago, and has been since at least when I was old enough to really follow government in the last 90s/early 00's.
