Got a link?

I've read plenty of WWII history and have never seen this even intimated.

They will definitely knock all our power, water and comms down for sure.

I have no doubt we would eventually prevail against any opponents but only if we could survive long enough to get our industry up and going.

How long would that take?? I have no idea but I bet 6 to 9 months just to start making weapons of war but still not in quantity.

The US can damp up munition manufacturing in the blink of an eye. Ford, GM, Chrysler, and every other auto plant in the US would convert to building tanks and aircraft—just like in WW2

It’s what happens when British allowed themselves to be destroyed from the inside.

We don't have the bodies to support a ground war. Much less the industrial base. I read a paper published by the war college awhile back illustrating the point pretty well. Attrition due to casualty would give us 3-8 months of fighting capability.

Not sure the exact figures but I read that 2/3 of Gen Z is to obese to enter basic training. Keep in mind, they usually give you a 20lb loophole.

I need some sauces for this. I've never seen anything even remotely hinting at this.

Besides, Stalin knew what was up. He knew the Red Army would get it's arse kicked by the United States in '45-'46.

I need to look through my books, it wasn't something I found on the internet.
Possibly Blueprints for Battle or Guns at Last Light, or Making of the Atomic Bomb...

It was related to his reaction to his spy reports to the bombs.

Of course Churchill was already lobbying for Operation Unthinkable.

But I will try to dig up where I read that.

Did a little looking at apparently we are working towards upping production capacity of 155MM shells to 100K per month from around 30K currently.

As others have said, we really need to be able to mass produce military drones of all sizes and that means everything that goes into them.

Warfare is changing. One benefit of the current war going on in Ukraine is it pushing development of new tactics and hardware much faster than a bunch of guys sitting around spitballing asking for new hardware because the have a theory.

Same could be said in early 1941. But we could ramp up much quicker than we did in WWII. Took us till 44 to really crank things out.

Our navy and air force are still 1st in the world by far. So no one is invading mainland US.

We mismanaged the frick out of our air assets in Viet Nam. Those B-52s should have been bombing Hanoi in 1965-66.

We had too many rules and regulation of what we could do and where we could go in the Vietnam war.
It completely takes your advantage of being superior to your enemy with those regulations.
War is not pretty. We should have leveled that whole dam area. Would’ve saved tons of Americans lives. Imagine the generations of families forever changed by the way we decided to fight that war.

For now, we need to skip the next Gen Fighter and be the first to field drones that can handle CAP and CAS.

The problem with reacquiring a defense manufacturing base in the United States is you'd get opposition from people who consider themselves America First screaming, "MIC!!! MIC!!!"

That and the regulations that make munitions factories cost prohibitive!

What ships are they building though? Norfolk alone has more carriers than all of China.

S-500 hahaha. They can’t even keep the 1 system they have in service operational. I’m sure they will also start mass producing the T-14 and SU-57 any day now.

Vietnam was never a threat to the United States. If we wanted to, we could've bombed the frick out of them and beat them into submission without putting a single boot on the ground there. Same goes for Iraq and Afghanistan.

Yeah, that statement tells me that this moron was a pogue or is stolen valor.

How many times has somebody proven wrong with the Air Superiority make ground operations obsolete argument?
