While video games shouldn't in any way bare the brunt, it is ludicrous to think violent games and movies aren't part of the problem.
Violence everywhere coupled with both parents working and medication nation are all to blame.
I would admit going after games is really stupid if you don't want liberals to say, sure will work on the games when you take away the guns.
By the way, even though I do feel non stop violence with every form of entertainment is part of the problem, I'm not advocating censorship in any form.
Parents are responsible for watching what their kids play and view, not some nanny state.

Grown men shouldn’t play video games.
Parents shouldn’t let their kids play video games which are lifelike and involve shooting.

The majority of games out now have players killing others with guns yet as more gun games have flooded the market and games have become more realistic the gun related homicides and suicides among teens has continued to drop.
I believe the issue is related to mass shootings, not just gun violence.
The issue is actually desensitization which is an actual problem. In fact, some military units use violent realistic video games to acclimate people to war and death
There are some profound benefits of gaming as well, however some kids spending too much time playing age inappropriate violent games can be harmed.
I would imagine the same goes for gore sites and beheading films. While not everyone is adversely affected, a few are

I played video games until I was about 16 and then grew out of them. In other words I grew up and to see 20 and 30 year old grown men playing video games is pretty damn sad, but nothing surprises me when it comes to millenials.

These school shooters aren't in the majority of our youth, are they? These shooters are in the minority and are in need of serious help. But we've gotta asked what these violent songs, movies, games, media coverage do to a twisted young mind?
The rest of the world plays these same video games, listen to the same music, and watch the same movies and yet their youth doesn’t have these instances of youth committing mass killings.

Everyone’s hobbies will look foolish to someone. Gaming industry is starting to outgrow the movie industry. The reason is because as a lot of gamers have aged they still play games as a hobby.

Nothing is coming out of it. Just a little pandering to the base.

Right. It's the same stance Hillary has taken before BTW.

Counterpoint, I wasn't jumping down any tubes of roughing up turtles in my youth.
Further counterpoint, Looney Toons has crazy amounts of violence, including with guns and bombs. Was that affecting kids too?

That's an overly broad assessment.
To the people saying that video ganes do not effect kids because you played your whole life... 2 things
1- games are different than 20 years ago.
2- studies do show that it does effect kids.
But the number one thing that has to stop, if we are truly interested in the issue, is the 100% denial that "x" has nothing to do with it.
The example in this "X" is that not everybody is not the same. Some people here have a higher probability of becoming an acholic with fewer drinks. Now when you throw in the fact that meds can cause issues, you are in a sense creating a bomb.

Probably not since dropping an anvil on the head of a cartoon bird is rarely an option.

Same, but for TV instead. At least the games I play require input, my mind is at least being somewhat active. The same can't be said for the couch zombies blankly staring at the TV.

TRUMP is going to force all the loser NEETs to put down their video games and get jobs.
