If our own Government is working to replace us with a people and a religion that intends to make Martyrs of the Christians, are we still obligated to pay taxes to that Government?
Yes. The same temple tax that Jesus performed a miracle to pay the temple tax that benefited His enemies, who tried to have Him killed, and ultimately succeeded in that task. He also commanded to "give to Caesar" taxes that went to fund Pontius Pilate, who ultimately gave the command to have Jesus executed.

Paul reaffirmed what Jesus taught, and he did so during the reign of Nero. While Nero may not have been as bad during that time as he would eventually become in having Christians killed, those same taxes Paul commanded went to paying for cult sacrifices, extortionary practices by the tax collectors, endless wars where Rome was spreading idolatry throughout the world, and a host of other practices that if the US government were subsidizing, no doubt many Christians would be saying the same things about not wanting to pay for such wickedness.

Paul's argument wasn't that you only owe taxes and submission to good and Christian governments, but to all governments. Jesus taught the same thing.

quote:

I think you should answer "Yes" because it maybe God's Will to make Martyrs of the Christians and to use Marxists and Islamists to do God's Work in this area.
Well, not for that specific reason, but you're not wrong that God will do as He has ordained. We are to pay taxes because we're commanded to do so by God's Word. We don't have to consider or even approve of what those taxes are used for, as I just mentioned with the historical context of Rome. We are to be obedient to God even if others are not obedient.

quote:

I think the Bible says that there will be a Tribulation and an Anti Christ that both will impose suffering on the Christians.

The Roman Government was really bad, but, Jesus said "pay your taxes" despite that.

I do see and do understand why you say that we are obligated to pay our taxes, even if the US Govt wants to eventually destroy our culture and our Christian religion.
Glad you do. I'm not saying I support or agree with the misuse and abuse. Thanks for your understanding

The Christians that began the Revolutionary War against the King of England, for over-taxation, would disagree.
There were Christians during that time that owned slaves, too.

My contention is not that Christians can be wrong, but that we need to obey God.

In the past, you've criticized me for only bashing Catholics on this forum. I've explained time and time again that I'm here to provide a Christian and Biblical worldview to politics and current events, and this is one of those examples.

Old Testament / eye for an eye. God has done his part revealing their evil and awakening us. We need to do ours and arrange a meeting for them. We are in a spiritual war and the other side is pure evil.

Jesus specifically taught that His kingdom is not of this world, and that He isn't fighting against His enemies with legions of angels that He could call down at any moment.

Our warfare is spiritual, and we are to slay our enemies with the truth, not with the sword.

quote:

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace. In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one; and take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God, praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication.

So fraud is to be expected from a government that lawfully exist. Gotcha!!

No. The government (federal, state, and local) doesn't deserve another thin dime from US citizens.

In some sense, yes, it should be expected, because sin exists, and governments are run by sinners.

That doesn't mean sin should be tolerated. In our particular form of government, Christians should be pushing godly men to be leaders, and hold them accountable for what they do.

What they deserve and what they are owed are different things. I'm speaking to Christians.

Lol. Is this from the Ted Cruz study Bible?

If anyone ever wondered why the Catholic church (pre 1943 at least) discouraged unguided individual Bible study and interpretation of scripture… Well here you go.

Please apply your Bible interpretation to the Holocaust scenario. Were the Jews morally obligated by God to pay taxes to the Nazi German government during the Holocaust?
