The idiot actually swatted the old address of the intended target (some guy who was teamed with him on a video game and made the wrong move).
Swat shows up and the father thought it was some neighbor in trouble. Walks out on the front porch with spotlights in his eyes and "hitches" up his sweatpants and got shot in the chest. Cops step over him looking for the "hostage" while the poor fella bled out on the floor to the horror of his family.

Explain just how that would be accomplished, including the part when dispatch is told that it's just a ruse and to make sure the SWAT team was made fully aware this was only a "media attention" exercise.

I'd venture to guess that those living with or around violent people that desperately want to keep their name & identification off of any paperwork for fear of being attacked or murdered for dropping a dime would disagree

We live in a nation where were are supposed to be free from state action absent probable cause and KAREN is NOT fricking probable cause.
Moreover, the fact that police are so cavalier about doing this shite with no REAL information should bother everyone. That's how you end up raiding entirely incorrect homes. Or homes where the target isn't even there.
We simply CANNOT accept police violating individual freedom based on anonymous unvetted unprofessional calls. Does this mean we'll miss a few? Yeah.
That's what you get in a free country.

But they have the ability to do an investigation to assess the facts without shooting and kicking in a door immediately. We're innocent until proven guilty here not guilty upon first anonymous accusation....

You need to read more closely because I'm not just talking about fake calls. Even calls where the person calling is sincere doesn't mean they're competent. This ridiculous offloading of responsibility from the police to whomever calls is stupid. The only thing a phone call should cause is the police to begin doing their job. It shouldn't be assumed that the caller knows what the frick they're talking about.
That's been my point in this thread. The reason why these psycho liberals can get away with swatting is because the generalized police approach to phone calls in the first place is fricking stupid. If it wasn't then the liberal Psychopaths wouldn't have anything to use

An 18 year old kid, living with his parents in Topeka, KS. Swatted and he came to the door and moved in a way the sniper mistook as threatening so the sniper pulled the trigger. Really sad.
