You are not wrong, but who defines what is inside and outside of the scope of being the President? Yeah, the extreme examples (like shooting a rival) are obvious, but what about the not so extreme? While I generally agree with Supreme Court's ruling, there is much to much grey area in this, and bad actors in the future will take advantage of this.
