They have been doing this shat since 1804, you would think eventually they would get it right.

IMF told them to reduce the gas subsidy and the natives got restless. But it stems from the fact that Petro Caribe fund has been thefted (as they say in the Caribbean).

Chavez set up Petro Caribe for Caribbean countries, he would sell you oil and a discount, you only had to pay 60% up front, the other 40% went into a fund for "development" purposes.

Seems the puppet dictators the Clintons put in place not only thefted the 40% but they are in arrears on the 60% payments as well. 3.8 billion, for comparative that would be equiv to a US president thiefing close to 2 trillion....the natives have a right to be restless.

Imagine if they had guns, they wouldn't have to be slaves to people like the Clintons.

The island of Hispaniola is a microcosm of the worldwide reality that there seems to be no possibility are they decently run majority-black Nation.

There is literally no reason from a resources perspective or a location perspective for Haiti to be so arse-backwards compared to the Dominican republic

The Dominican economy is one of the fastest-growing in the Caribbean. Haiti is a complete fricking Trainwreck

What is the fix for the poverty and disfunction on the Isle of Hispaniola?

Let the Dominican take over Haiti? The Dominican is doing remarkably well. Sure they're way behind us but unlike Haiti they aren't completely stagnant and they are growing

The Dominican has become somewhat in demand for tourists. Meanwhile most people would rather be gay cruising the streets of Chicago at 2 in the morning than visit Haiti for a vacation. ;)

What would that look like? Pretty bloody? Seems a completely untenable situation as it exists now with such an economic fault line in such a small geographic area. Not sure it’s “our problem”, but it is definitely a problem.

Well I was being a little sarcastic. But it's not like those two groups haven't fought before.

I'll be blunt. As long as Haitians are running Haiti Haiti will look like it does today or worse

Why would the DR want to take over Haiti? Talk about a country that needs a wall.

There really is no solution to the problems in Haiti. Not in today’s paradigm. And that is unfortunate.

I pray that the Clintons will ultimately get tagged for their corruption, including how they ripped off Haiti. Strange how all the Haitian whistleblowers seem to drop dead right before they testify.

Some funny Haitian stories. Pepsi rep said he was visiting there, arrived at the airport and they were having one of these dust ups.

The owner of the distributor forgot to pick him up, cells were not working, it was after 5pm so he is stuck at the airport cause no cabs dare approach the place. Then they tell him they are closing the airport and he has to leave. So there is a UN personnel carrier there with a caravan heading out and he asks them for a lift to the hotel. They tell him he cannot ride in it, but he can sit on top, and off they go.

I asked him what in the world he was thinking. He said...Three Dog Night, the song was just playing in my head...Momma told me not to come.

Dom Rep has less people and 8 times the GDP, its latin and Haiti is african, if you fly over you can tell the border, the entire Haitian half is denuded of trees.

And nothing is done in Dom Rep unless the Fanjul brothers say so, and they are perfectly happy with keeping their Haitian slaves working their sugar plantation.

Then there is the story about bill clinton and one of the brothers, very funny, and typical govt/business hubris.

Perhaps Haiti needs to find them a set of Fanjul brothers.
