This has nothing to do with the Strait being open. It has to do with massive escalation being put off for another two weeks.
Frankly, the market is betting that nothing will happen.

So what was gained?
Iran learned a valuable lesson that they can easily fend off the US by closing the strait

What about nukes? Remember that is what all this was about, remember?
And since they were 2 weeks away they have just enough time to weaponize it right?

I won’t take Trump’s word on anything. I’ll wait for the actual results

Folks, our Middle East issues are a thing of the past. He actually fricking did it. Middle East is officially ours.

A ceasefire subject to the opening of the strait. If this holds, that means we are right back to the point before we started this war. No bombing or shooting with free passage of the Strait. So what was gained?
I was against escalation from the beginning, but once you get to a certain point in a game that isn’t going well it’s more important to find a way out that doesn’t cost you more than you can afford to lose than it is to play out a hand chasing an unlikely outcome just for pride or on an outside chance at the outcome you came in hoping for.
If we can leave right now as is we won’t have gained anything but we won’t have lost anything that’s going to cause us any real hurt either.

Same leaders ? Is this at all over? This is nothing as Iran has yet to keep themselves honest about anything at any level

US President Donald Trump says he will suspend the bombing of Iran subject to Tehran agreeing fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz. No immediate comment from Iranian officials.
