When are talking about? The man hunt?

Yep.

That was sickening. An entire city shut down for the milita...I mean cops.

And the cops didn't do shite but intrude on people's homes. A civilian found the guy.

And he was breaking the law by doing so...walking his dog on the street when it was forbidden.

Saddest part of the whole thing was the people cheering the police and waving American flags...when they didn't do shite.

Birthplace of liberty.

magildachunks is right, a whole city was shut down, not just a small city, but Boston, MA was shut down. It worries me now not only big city police, but hell even small town police and sheriff's getting all this military style toys.

Boston ask for it; they vote out guns and leave their personal security up to the Police...so what do they expect other than maximum efficiency toward git'r done...when rogues mix in with the general populous.

This train has left the station. Just like in St. Louis, the political/ideological polarization is going to end up in the streets. Hell, they mowed a bunch of college students down back when I was a protestor. Remember Kent State.

Question..If the only police presence was Barney Fife after the Boston Bombings, would you agree that every person ever would be complaining that we don't have sufficient means to respond to threats.

So it's okay that they shut down an entire city, and illegally entered people's house under the threat of "If you have nothing to hide, you won't mind"?

That's not America. Or, that shouldn't be America.

I am not saying that it is right.

But you didn't answer the question either. If they ran it business as usual with Barney walking the streets their would be outrage and call for action.

That is all I am saying.

All I'm saying is they did nothing but pose for the cameras.

A citizen found the guy. A man walking his dog did better police work.

But hey, they got run of the town in their fancy military vehicles and got to wear those awesome uniforms.

Something tells me, if they wouldn't have done what they did, the guy would have been found sooner. More people walking the streets would have given more people to find the guy.

It is no longer a black helicopter scenario.

A friend from Yugoslavia, who lived under communism, said that the police in this country remind him way too much of what he left.

As did a drinking buddy who grew up in East Germany.

Why do police forces need these MRAP's from the military? To quote the Boy King "Weapons of war have no place on the street's of America". Unless you are the Police.

Anecdotes are fun.

I'm sure there are some bad cops out there. I've personally met some amazing people who were LEO's and did a great service to their community. But that won't make the news.

I'm still waiting for someone to tell me why Baton Rouge Police need this:

Why should they make the news for doing their job as a peace officer?

I won't be on the 6pm tonight because I landed a deal I was supposed to close this morning.

Yep. The Largest Gang in America: The Police.

I'm glad you're almost positive about that first sentence. I've met some amazing people who have gone to jail before. But I bet you would consider them thugs.

If they ever stop running inspection sticker checkpoints and go into the real criminal part of town, they might actually

Not saying it isn't wrong and a legit threat, but there is no truth that the police here are akin to communism and east germany.
