Our valuable, historical, Lee monument still resides in a hurriedly-constructed slipshod structure that would not survive a Cat 1 storm.
Done under the auspices of a prototype nouveau southern scalawag "graduate" of the globalist-oriented Aspen Institute, and his fellow "graduate" of the same academy now in the position resists even discussing the future locations for a group of monuments whose combined collector's value is over a million dollars.
But this was never just about CFA monuments since the golden statue of Jeanne d'Arc near Cafe DuMonde and even the WWI Monument are also on the "list" for removal along with over 100 others.
It has always been more about the mentality behind it and their long range plans.
The WWI monument is a particular sore spot since the current Aspen "graduate" running the city has stood by and let the School Board arbitrarily decide not to allow the private citizen, all-volunteer Monumental Task Committee dedicated to cleaning and repairing the city's monuments from going near it to even attempt to make it look presentable.

Lee was extremely torn over secession but in the 1800s people were loyal to their state in an issue that went back all the way back to the Articles of Confederation. Lee decided to fight for his state. He was a noble man who fought the north straight up on the battle field because he viewed guerrilla warfare as pathetic and pussy even though if the south used that tactic they may have been able to draw out the war long enough for the north to lose their appetite for war and sue for peace.

It was DEMOCRATs who purposely destroyed the black family culture to the point that over 3/4 of black children are raised in a fatherless environment, prone to the animal tendencies of "street culture."
It is current DEMOCRATs who fight any attempts to improve the educational environment in black communities.
It is current DEMOCRATs who fight any attempts to instill self-reliance in the new black 'culture' that they created.
It is current DEMOCRATs who are now importing a new horde of unskilled and dependent people to further displace blacks in their attempts to escape the DEMOCRAT plantation.
From its inception, it has been DEMOCRATs who work tirelessly for the subjugation of the black race - first by enslavement, then by restrictive laws, then by terrorism, then by cultural destruction, and now by indifference.
ANY reference to a DEMOCRAT should be a CONSTANT slap in the face to ANY black person.

You know. I love to study history too. And while you're correct, you are overlooking the regional demographics.
Democrats prior to 1970 were predominately southern conservative whites.
Conservative and liberal do not mean Democrat or Republican.
They simply changed their message after the CRA to appeal to different groups. The parties never switched policy only people. You could just as easily replace most of those statements with white southerners.
