What does be stand to gain from gym rallies that outweighs the lambasting that he'll take whether it's a gym or a stadium? It's simply a cost/benefit analysis that is unfortunately necessary given the unprecedented times. For a mere gym rally tour the heat he'd take for a litany of reasons just doesn't make sense to me.
He's been campaigning ever since he was sworn in as President. They'll continue to campaign in ways that match the unusual times, and furthermore we'll most likely see more aggressive action once the "convention" is in the books. The fresher in the minds of the key areas the better anyway, IMO.

I hope you are correct. But, I see far, far less than I did in 2016. I'm seeing about 5% of what I saw back then.

They're keeping him insulated for the time being. They must have received credible intelligence that he is in danger.
