1. You falsely misstate his position. He is not for religious marriage. He is for CIVIL UNIONS.
2. I don’t like this Pope because he plays in the darkest side of the grey areas between black and white Catholicism.
3. His ambiguity WILL lead Souls astray.

What makes the Pope so special? He wipes his arse just like I do. I’ve never understood the importance

agree with what others said, he is ok with civil unions but nothing will be recognized by the church this is more or less so they have secular rights. Most Catholics including my priest believe this is wrong and the pope did a poor job explaining his position. I think after this pope you will see a big shift back to the right with the next one.

I am a Protestant and could care less about him. I just would like to know what some Catholics feel about him.

He did not change church teaching on homo. But he is signaling that gays should not be mistreated... which is what I was always taught as a cat lik
But he likes walking that line.
He is a gas lighter and APPEARS to be condoning the act... Which is against 2000 years of church teaching

Thanks be to God for showing us the true faith of the Pope.

I thought he was the Vicar of Christ or something like that. Is his word absolute?

He's hoping in return the gays will approve Pope marriages - quid pro quo.
Also saw he's a Jesuit so him approving of gay stuff makes perfect sense. fricking gay jays.

This Pope really didn’t change anything with his comments; however, he caused a ton of confusion amongst his flock and he never clarifies his statements. It freaking infuriating.

This part is a no go for the church. You can not hate, and not participate, but do not condone. As God's Church we should not have condemnation but compassion, with love and mercy the same that is available to all who come.

In your opinion who are The Church? Does this include Protestants also? Serious not trying to cause problems. The Catholic Church is not in my opinion the Church only.

are you this fricking stupid??
he did not get shite approved dumbass. he would have to call an ECUMENICAL COUNCIL and even if he did it would not pass. his dumbass personal opinions are NOT church law/doctrine. The ecumenical council determines this. not bishop of rome/pope. This was all discussed yesterday.
was going to link thread all this was posted in yesterday but the admins deleted it
this thread will be deleted also since the other was.

Only when speaking ex cathedra, which has happened on a very small number of occasions in 2000 years. The Holy Spirit will not allow a Pope to define a heresy as doctrine.
In most cases, like this one, that's just, like, his opinion, man.

I have Catholic friends, and other than abortion, the Catholic church is terribly liberal, so this doesn't surprise me at all.
