40+ years later and Rob Reiner still doesn’t get it either.

An even bigger one than before.

Can’t help but laugh at “Good Times” commenting on an Archie Bunker meme. Lol.

Rob Reiner has become a caricature of liberalism. He should be mocked at every opportunity.

What's amusing about the casting is that Carrol O'Connor was a raging liberal himself.

What I find truly amusing i s that Carroll O’Conner probably thought he was making fun of Archie Bunker, but instead he made it obvious what losers people like Meathead are.

It is totally said that neither Archie nor George Jefferson could have a TV show made about them today.

And remember. All in the Family ran in the friggin 70s when living at home and mooching off your in laws wouldn't have been considered very common!

He basically was a 70s millennial.

Rob Reiner actually has a fairly respectable and constructive personal demeanor in which he spews forth his inept political musings . He’s polite and friendly. Just saying.

Also , Archie never was a Conservative. He was Lear’s version of what a blue collar Republican was. Being a New Yorker with many great Uncles in that generation in that time, EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM WAS A PRO UNION DEMOCRAT. That guy, that New York lovable bigot who loved his country but struggled against the changing mores of his country was never a Republican, he was a Democrat. The Republican guy was Archie’s boss or Archie’s upstate cousin.

He comes across as unhinged to me. He just said Trump is stoking evil if he doesn't commend ABC for firing Roseanne. Stoking evil?

On twitter, he advocated that his followers take to the streets.

Perhaps he does it in a delightful manner but he is completely unhinged.

That is probably a spot on observation of how the character was developed.

True. My FIL was one of these. There was very little about the Democrat platform that he agreed with, but he was a union guy, so he ignored all that other stuff and pulled the lever with the "D" next to it every single time.

The Democrats went too far to the left and turned off the blue collar union worker when they started appealing to illegal aliens who threaten to take blue collar jobs if they get legal status. The Democrats have been trying to carve out a permanent majority by trying to appease women, minorities, gays, illegals, etc. They took the unions, who have supported them for years and years, for granted. It appears that they may be doing the same to blacks. When you play identity politics, you run the risk of having two constituent groups who have conflicting wants.

You are correct Archie was not a Republican bc in the 70s Republicans were country clubbers.

The Democrats and the Unions have spent the last 40 years mocking the Archies of this world in popular culture, and deriding the kind of man whose work ethic built the country and that allows them to have time to go to protests and live in the basement. Archies still exist. And they voted for DJT in 2016.

The only people who don’t vote with their wallet are the filthy rich. Which is why dems are so interested in keeping people poor.
