That doesn’t make any sense whatsoever in response to my point, except perhaps to the extent it points out your own hubris.

Because you seem to have missed the point.
Your goals are not immune to counter play. Your goals can be fricked with and need a strategy to be accomplished like any other.
Do not have so much hubris that you think yours cannot be fricked with and sabotaged by bad actors and morons.

Months and months and months ago I warned the hammer swings hard the other way, real hard.
I really am afraid we have not even begun yet.
The 20th the mood will change immediately.

Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence. Just because you haven’t found something doesn’t mean it doesn’t exist.
It’s not just that. It’s that the archaeological evidence positively proves there was no global flood for at least the last couple hundred million years. And there’s not enough water on earth to cover all the land, unless you assume the earth is a flat disk and a “Tehom” (subterranean ocean) and a “Raqia” (firmament) with waters above in the heavens.

quote:
Israel’s wilderness debacle is an illustration of the average believer, in that God delivers us from bondage, and refines our character through tests and trials; providing us with every opportunity to improve. That’s not stupid. That’s true love
We we treated our children like Yahweh treated his “children” we’d all be in jail for child abuse and murder.
quote:
Moses means “son of.”
We agree

quote:
No one is saying that it means “to draw out.”
Hmm I could have sworn I’d heard or read that Moses means to draw out of the water.
quote:
10When the child grew older, she brought him to Pharaoh’s daughter, and he became her son. She named him Moses, “Because,” she said, “I drew him out of the water.”b
Yep, named Moses because she drew him out of the water. “Because” explicitly refers to causation in this context. Cause is he was drawn out. Effect is his name was given as Moses. But why? Let’s look at footnote “b” of the ESV on this verse.
quote:
Footnotes:
a 3 Hebrew papyrus reeds
b 10 Moses sounds like the Hebrew for draw out
Everything I read from apologists are that Moses sounds like a word that means to draw out.
quote:
This could be explained by necessity. If you look at it as God preparing a stubborn and disobedient people of shallow faith, then it only makes sense that God would use Joshua in many similar ways to reinforce the foundation that He laid with Moses. Is this not plausible?
Just about anything could be plausible if you can dream it up. But it’s not the most likely.
quote:
Ok. So, would you say that Ben Hadad (1,2, or 3) is a good guy, or a bad guy, in the biblical narrative?
Wasn’t an Israelite and worshipped Baal and wasn’t Cyrus of Persian (the Lord’s messiah) so I guess they were all bad guys.

quote:
They are two separate incidents. Why is this a problem?
The issue is the exodus golden bull ordeal was ginned up and partly based on the golden calves that were likely really at one point in BethEl and Dan.

Thank you Lord for hearing the prayers of America. Thank you for raising up a modern Moses to lead us out of oppression and slavery to a foreign god. Please remove all barriers between America and the promised land. Crush our enemies behind us! Be strong and faithful, true Americans! Do not grow weary, a difficult path lies ahead. Stand together and enter the Promised Land that awaits us!
This is what OP posted. What about this post “scares” “normies” and why? Also, can you define what a “normal” person is? I’m not disagreeing with your claim. I actually agree with you. I just think we have a different understanding of religious extremism. I don’t think that OP represents any danger to normies, whereas transgender ideology, to any degree, absolutely does. So, while I agree with your original statement (to an extent), I think it’s wise to be careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water. To your point, from my perspective, Christians already do a much better job of identifying, labeling and de-platforming our zealots than the irreligious left does.

The way it works is this.
An idea like that post drives the left into a frenzy and they start making all sorts of noise about "White Christian Nationalism" and calling the right a "cult" who worships Trump. Not just supports him politically over the opposition, but worships him.
Your average person in the US, be they a rightist populist or a blue haired cat lady leftist or a "normie" in flyover country, doesn't pay attention to politics. People always seem to forget that here. The people who post here pay orders of magnitude more attention to politics than the average American, who forms their opinions based on mostly overheard snippets of information laced with agenda from passing conversations or clips on the news while waiting to get their haircut at the Great Clips or whatever.
Your average normie who is inclined more toward the Trump end of the spectrum will hear in these snippets indications that people who support Trump are wild eyed extremists who want to codify their own personal religious beliefs. At first they may disregard such notions, but then let's say that they come across something like that post.
And at that point, being low information voters, they can't really refute the notion. They don't pay enough attention to realize that only a small percentage of MAGA voters are that cringe.
And as a Christian myself, yeah, that post is pretty cringe. It's not theologically sound, nor is it spiritually mature. It's a lot like thanking God for your team winning a football game.

I agree with everything you said. And, by the way, well done. Very well reasoned and articulated post.
I owe SFP an apology. After much consideration, his tranny/zealot analogy is spot on. Both are (potentially) equally destructive (though one relies on the perception of others, and the other is its own destruction) it’s a clever trap to make one think that false religion is somehow less destructive than none at all. I suppose the only caveat is that one is still in the ball park of truth, while the other is full steam ahead in the opposite direction- yet both can lead to destruction, or be the catalyst for a journey towards truth. Interesting.

Well, it’s the truth.

Slo wants to be a star so bad. He had his podcast, even considered running for Congress. He wants to be somebody, instead of a nobody, which is what he is.
