why arent the globalist conspiracy theories ever extended to Peter Thiel and Musk?
theres little difference between what they do and what Soros is accused of.

To get into these schools you have to have a certain number of zeros in your bank account, or your last name has to be Kennedy.
This simply isn't true.
I have posted before that I have a son graduating from a US News Top 5 school in May. I'm no Kennedy. I am not rich or important. My son is a blue-eyed white male that got in before the SCOTUS decision. He isn't a recruited athlete. He had no DEI "hook" or level of celebrity. He was just born with an insane ability for mathematics and won a presitigous math competition.
I sacrificed & saved, and fully paid for this education, because I want him to have a better life than me. He has a job set-up that doesn't happen unless you go to one of these schools. He is graduating with 2 STEM Bachelors degrees. The notion that it is all stupid rich kids at these schools is 100% not true.
I posted Thiel's comments because I wanted to see what people in a conservative forum, who are normally dismissive of elite universities, feel about the opinions of someone so closely associated with the President and Vice President.

I’m pretty sure Thiel has always gotten a lot of shite in that regard. Elon is kind of a unique animal from the typical “financier” types.

It's not, although you can certainly buy your way in.
For those who don't know, the general strategy of the Harvards is to get enough rich kids to keep the cash flowing, then you concentrate on pure merit for the other seats and use your endowment (paid for by the previously mentioned rich kids) if the next Will Hunting is dirt poor.
Vandy has largely the same approach, so it's not strictly Ivy Leagues who do this.

This is actually a very good question. It deserves an honest answer.
Also, while everything Thiel said about Harris and Walz is true, it wasn't that long ago that the GOP tried to comically force Sarah Palin upon us. Her education was a joke.

what people in a conservative forum,
these loud mouth jackassholes only call themselves conservatives
nothing more than generally ignorant unread reactionaries.
They're all down with centralizing power in the federal government as long as their type of leader is in charge.
In effect, they are no different than the transgender nut jobs that demand you use their pronouns.
They want you to call them conservative but they support untethered populism

That's not the sole measure of intelligence. It frequently isn't a good one at all in the absence of an "elite" college degree.

Yes.
Howard is highly respected....for HBCUs.

Peter Thiel is a chipped transhumanist AI agenda lunatic who had ZERO business at a WH podium on Day One lecturing America about the "benefits" of further mRNA "life-saving" injectibles.
Meanwhile Vance's very cozy personal-professional relationship with Thiel (his sponsor) is worrisome and frankly, suspect.

Good observation. Noted as well.
This is dangerous position to take -- especially if the default position is to ignore scrutinizing any and all close examination of the policies of our "guy". I see a Bad Moon a rising rapidly if "conservatives" continue to ignore quite a few red flags already.

The value of a degree from an “elite” school is entirely dependent on what you paid for it, as with any other commodity. If you paid sticker price, it’s almost never going to have the ROI you would have gotten from going to a less expensive school, getting the same degree, and investing the difference.

That was more about an attempt at masking an atrocious top of the ticket candidate they were trying to comically force upon us.

Thiel was a major part in Trump being elected President in 2016.

That's not begging. they used to be neighbors and friends.
you can call him a hypocrite, but he didn't go that hard on Biden from 2008-2019 or so.

but if I read the OP correctly , they feel that their son only got the job offer he got because of where he got his degree
Now you may argue that he might be incorrect but if he sees the value and he did the hard work then I can't argue with this decision he made because he seems comfortable with the outcome.
And a very real difference between elite universities or a Texas, Michigan, SoCal compared to just anywhere else you could go is the quality of fellow students
THAT does make a difference, Much like message boards, compare The Parliament to this place

That's what they'd like you to believe but it's 100% false. IT. IS. 100% PERCEPTION.
It was pre-determined by tOverlords and their AI Governance agenda that DJT would be victorious either way -- whether 2016 or 2024.

I think what you’re saying is correct if you’re talking about the “average” student at these schools. But I’d argue that the top-tier students aren’t much different at any of these major universities. Alabama actually has more national merit scholars than Rice because they give large merit scholarships to those students. Rice doesn’t give a shite.
