They took a serious look at it. That's the point. The right wing drifter claimed there were no kids because noone would open the doors for him even though he was there with a handful of grown men and cameras. Its a daycare. If my son was at a daycare and they let a bunch of anonymous men run through the place unannounced id be fricking pissed. The dumbass also neglected to mention that a note on the door said that it was there for after school care. So no shite they weren't full of kids at 1 in the afternoon.

He wasn't being dishonest. He went to these places and reported what he found. This is what journalists are supposed to do.
The media showing up after his report and suddenly finding kids there isn't proving him as dishonest, at worst it proves he was wrong, but more likely it proves these "daycares" are bringing in kids after the fact to try and cover their asses.
Do you believe the guy saying someone broke into their daycare and stole their important documents? The police say nothing has been reported to them as stolen. What about the daycare that showed like 5 kids being dropped off throughout the day as proof that they have kids there? It is a farce.

A few things can be true at once here…
Daycare is already a space with a wide range including sketchy centers.
I suspect especially during Covid there was a surge of dollars and a gutting of in person check ups
Just like a dozens of other unchecked systems, fraud escalated exponentially and fraudsters were particularly lazy
MSM has shown zero interest in investigative journalism around this topic
Shirley did an ok but not great job capturing it- brought it to the masses but had a lot of strategic errors in his efforts
Everyone’s haphazardly covering themselves. Whether fraudsters or negligent auditors- it’s time to put on a grand show together but not coordinated. Messy as hell.
MSM continues to have no desire to report especially with the egg of this guy outdoing them when he’s clearly not fantastic at it
