The Liberals are Falling Apart

I have some liberals in my orbit and I often guage them for their political opinions. These are smart, level headed Democrats that I would consider "old school" Democrats.
Well, I have noticed a sudden and dramatic uptick in their frustration levels over this primary cycle. They are turning on their party very quickly at this point because the DNC is clearly rigging their elections against Bernie. And these are people who don't even like Bernie. They're just pissed off with the party's glaring incompetence.
They're turning on themselves and they're turning on their party.
I'm making a prediction right now. Between now and November the #WalkAway movement is going to grow quite large indeed. These people are primed to actually do the unthinkable and consider voting for Trump.
I hope Trump calculates these things and begins to hammer home the message of UNITY. Because the DNC is in total disarray right now and Trump is primed to kick their arse.
The other thing I see happening potentially is people becoming fed up with their shite and voting for Sanders in droves out of spite. Even the ones that don't like Bernie.

Trump doesn't know how to unify.
He will still win
He will still win

Agreed.
Look, over the last few years a lot of these "old school" Democrats have largely been silent on politics. I know it doesn't seem that way when we look at the news or whatever, but most of what we are seeing in the media and social media are the vocal minority. The larger portion of the Democratic base, IMO, have mostly been taking a step back from everything.
That is changing quickly. These people are becoming upset. This is the second cycle in a row where the DNC is clearly up to shady shite and people are starting to get fed up with it.
The DNC is in serious trouble.

They miscalculated the temperature of the country and went way too far left way too fast.
This could have been a treacherous election for Trump if facing a candidate in the general who could move back towards the middle.
Everyone raising their hands to support free health care for illegals kinda ended that possibility though.

And I believe this happened because Trump did something nobody else in his position ever even attempts to do -- keep his campaign promises.
That simple act is enough to swallow a large portion of the independent vote. So the DNC is left with one option. That is to move to the left even farther and try and counter by targeting first time voters who are more likely to vote for someone like a Bernie Sanders.
Because let's be honest, only children are seriously considering voting for an admitted socialist. Adults understand the danger a candidate like Sanders poses.

If they are rigging their primary to sabotage one candidate in favor of another, they aren’t incompetent, they are simply criminally corrupt.
I don’t follow democrat politics very closely, but you have to view what they are doing as a pretty open admission that they do not believe it is possible for Bernie to win. This has to put them in a bit of a pickle, since the young movers and shakers in the party are all avowed socialists.
In the end, you have to figure the narrative will be that the socialist candidate (Bernie) was the problem, and not the socialist/communist philosophy they espouse. They will cut a deal with the squad, convincing them that the first open socialist candidate for president should be one of them, and then they’ll screw Bernie again.

Whatever their strategy, you won't hear a peep about disenfranchised voters, democracy in peril, or anything of the sort until November at the earliest.

None of them can win.
The question quickly becomes do you try and screw Bernie again and risk fracturing your base beyond repair, or do you give the nomination to the candidate that deserves to win and keep your base intact in an effort to give it another run in 2024?
They're running the risk of losing their entire party if they don't do the right thing here.
The real problem is that the DNC old guard finds themselves between a rock and a hard place. Their corruption is being exposed. And for this reason they feel compelled to give the nomination to Joe Biden and hope they pull a rabbit out of the hat and somehow rig the general election too.
It's doomed to fail, but their chips are all in.

There has been growing anxiety, but I noticed a huge increase in the saltiness of lefties right after the Senate voted not for the record to stand just as the House developed it.
I guess they really thought he was going to be removed.
The reality of seeing Trump only grow stronger through peach mints left them scared.

I think their best candidate is Boot-edge-edge. And that's crazy. But he is the sharpest of the bunch of them.
His problem is that he has negative charisma.
You're right. They need an Obama type candidate and they simply don't have one.
Bloomberg presents a Faustian pact type of deal. If Bloomberg were to somehow make it to the general election he may have the ability to go toe-to-toe with Trump...At least for a little while. He would still lose, but he could at least challenge Trump in the realm of economics, which is Trump's wheelhouse.
Problem is, Bloomberg is antithetical to what these people stand for.
They don't have a single candidate that stands a chance.

Insightful commentary on how to “guage” the political environment.
I have to “guage” this a typo, however, since you write “their” correctly multiple times, which is a virtual miracle on this board.

It’s not even about the antics of the DNC for most. Problem is there is no adult candidate to vote for. It’s either Warren or Bernie way, way out in left field or who? There’s a glaring hole in the center.
