The A-10 is a beast. I was F15 and A10 avionics when I was active duty. Also these are not even the same A10s they were 10 years ago. It blows my mind when people think these jets are still flying the same stuff they rolled off the lines with. All of these jets have been upgraded significantly. The A-10 is about to start wrecking shite.

The entire airframe was built around the GAU-8 30mm main gun. It was designed to be a flying gun.
This is correct.

The gun was designed first and the military contract was for an aircraft that could incorporate it. The nose wheel is offset to the side because the damn cannon is so big.

He used his Stuka to kill tanks and not with bombs either.

The A-10 Thunderbolt resembles the Junkers JU 87 Stuka insofar as it has wings, a fuselage, and requires a pilot. That's about the extent of the similarities between the aircraft.

The JU 87G variant was refitted with two 30mm cannons attached to hard points on the wings in order to adapt to the role of "tank killer" but it requires a massive intellectual stretch to say that this was the grandfather of the Republic A-10 Thunderbolt, which is essentially an aircraft built around a 30mm GAU-8 cannon as opposed to the JU 87G which was a dive bomber with the hard points for bomb attachment being utilized for the attachment of 30mm cannon pods.
