Ok.

And then new societal norms will be set.

And you just kinda proved my point.

New societal norms are already being set, but they are only being set by a minority group who controls the narrative.
That's why it's dangerous to claim certain words and phrases are unacceptable while excusing others with race being the determining factor.

:sigh:

The minority is not setting the norms. They can't.

There are people on this forum who compare Michelle Obama to a primate. The reason why the Roseanna comment is a big issue is that there are STILL retrograde assholes using antiquated racial references to refer to blacks.

I don't delve into the whole blacks look like primates thing.

But, can we all at least have a WEE bit of honesty here.

If an alien landed on Earth tomorrow...........and, learned the concept of insulting people...........it would take them like 5 minutes to figure out that due to aesthetic realities, one could use a primate reference to piss black people off.

Just as one can use aesthetic realities to call Trump an Orangutan.

I love it when everyone plays the false, "oh my.....that's so ridiculous.......black people look NOTHING like other dark primates" shtick.

It's like being pissed if someone talking about some Manute Bol type says, "that fricker has to smile for me to find him in the dark". It's funny.............cause.......it's sort of true.

I'm just not a fan of everyone pretending to not see something you know they all see.

Let me ask you a few questions?
Do you think that the majority on Americans if they were allowed to answer questions honestly without fear of reprisals, would say that men wanting to call themselves women was normal or acceptable? How about men using ladies bathrooms?
But Americans, normal middle America Americans don't get to go on national tv and frame the issues. A small minority of leftists media members and academia do.

Agreed. But Bill Maher, to his credit, has been consistent on the free speech issue. He has no problem calling out the left's hypocrisy. He will be in support of Rosanne.

But nothing happened to Maher for that. The truth is, if you are conservative you better watch what you say.

Abortion, gay marriage? You actually think those two agendas weren't brought to life by a minority of the people at the time it became controversial? I sure as hell do.

Normal? Most would probably say "no"

Acceptable? Most would probably say "yes

And most do not accept the bathroom policies today, despite the media push, which is why it is so controversial.

Middle American still has to buy in for it to become a societal norm.

If the "leftist media" set the norms, we would all be using non gender restrooms every time we went to the bathroom in public.

Most people would consider that abnormal

It's still not a cultural norm as much as you might want to pretend it is

Well no, that isn't what I'm saying at all.

A minority always starts societal shifts.

But the majority still has to buy in to it for it to become a societal norm.

Gay marriage had pretty wide spread public acceptance before the supreme court decided that it should be legal

I don't care if people support or do not support her. I probably would have fired her too. But that's because if I'm running a network, then people who are part of my network are NOT going to find me amenable to them alienating giant chunks of my potential audience. And, I would apply that standard ACROSS the board.

That said, I can make just as solid of an argument for a network saying, "we understand that our customer base is very diverse and so are our employees. We maintain a hard and fast "on your own time" rule and literally NOTHING done on your own time that isn't criminal will have an effect on your career. The ONLY thing that will have an effect is if you can no longer make money for our network".

I personally wouldn't roll with the 2nd because it would be very hard to legitimately do.

But, what I do NOT approve of is the fact that BOTH of the above standards are applied...........depending upon who you are.

No they don't. All that has to happen is the majority to do nothing until it's too late or allow themselves to be shamed into silence.

There's some other pics of primates who have white faces that also work for some other famous people.

Little Help here.
