It is what happened, incorrectly, 50 years ago concerning abortion.

A federal law didn’t make abortion legal.

An individual sewing their state to enforce an individual right did.

So it wasn’t an congress or the president.

Your problem is as I stated. You want to live in a nice red state while expecting everyone else there to bow to your blue ideals.

Where do you think I live?

I’m just pointing out how fast the freedom loving right jumps on states rights when they get a chance to rule over others.

Governments don’t create freedoms they just codify them.

States Rights cases rarely uphold individual freedom. This case didn’t uphold individual freedom. It upheld a smaller governments ability to inhibit people’s actions.

You're essentially arguing that there's a natural right to everything. Quite literally - anything/everything, so any government that restricts you're natural right to do anything you want is inhibiting your freedom.

How often do “State Rights” Give individuals more freedom

In virtually every single instance...

If you were more educated, you would know that.

So segregation? State right to run their schools.

That enhanced freedom?

What about that New York case when they fought for a state’s right to regulate fire
Arms?

Lawrence V Texas. Sodomy being a crime I handed which indiciduals rights?

Loving V Virginia.

State right to regulate marraige by banning interracial marriage. Who did that make more free?

Obergerfell- the state government prohibiting gay marriage expanded who’s individual right?

But that’s just 5 major cases I thought Of immediately.

Do you want me to cite to all the federal decisions ... ask the japanese about internment...

Of course there are unconstitutional laws, both federal and state.

However, it is the federal laws that are enacted that take away far more of your freedoms than state laws.

OSHA much?
FMCSA much?
EPA much?

Not a states rights case.

Not the argument I’m making

This decision didn’t overturn a federal law.

It overturned a decision that said states couldn’t inhibit the individual rights of their citizens and It gave power to the states to make laws that do so.

Most States’ Rights cases fight for a states right to inhibit the freedom of their citizens.

I’m merely pointing out how hypocritical is it to hate the feds but love when states do it.

It’s a losing argument. He doesn’t actually want freedom.

He wants the federal government to bend him over, smash him, and pay for his abortion.

This shite has to do with us being a republic. Nothing more. Return the decision to the individual and their representatives. Abortion is not in bill of rights or any other amendment.

Moving is impractical for many people especially when elderly parents are part of the picture, nursing homes visits, etc.

That's why you have the freedom to decide what's important in life, what risks you take and don't take, and give other people that same freedom at the same time.

If "moving is impractical," then don't take actions that would make you want or need that ability. Appropriately judge your actions according to the outcome. Don't force others to live under something so that you can have it your way. Let states be states, that was literally THE WHOLE POINT.
