Lots of hotels, just like convenience stores, are owned by non-Americans.

Hilton is run by conservatives at the corporate level. Franchise level, you get stuff like this.

The government rate at a Hampton is super low.
Crazy low actually.
Hampton Inn is just a place to rest for the night. Nothing fancy at all. They are usually clean and fairly consistent. Old reliable along the highway outside population centers.
