That was Scott Gottlieb's quote actually, but I certainly took notice given who he is and what I was seeing in my own world. The Mercy never went to New York, I assume you mean the Comfort and I had no part in optimizing the use of that particular asset and I have no idea how much it was used. I will say this. Our facilities aren't seeing, even now, bread and butter ED stuff -CHF, infections,acute diabetic issues, cancer complication - I have no idea if the Comfort was set up to take that, but I have to believe those patients have been going untreated.


Anyway, what's happened over the last week and half or so is simply that the fruit of all of our collective mitigation efforts kicked in. Pretty much everywhere. So take Georgia and Florida and their week over week total hospitalizations:

Wed 3/18: FL-20 ; GA- 1
Wed 3/25:FL- 316 (1,480%^); GA - 394 (39300%^)
Wed 4/1:FL - 949 (295%^); GA - 952 (141%^)
Wed 4/8:FL - 2,062 (117%^); GA - 1,993 (109%^)
Wed 4/15: FL 3,344 (62%^); GA - 2922 (46%^)
Wed 4/22: FL- 4,489 (34%^); GA - 3,959 (36%^)


That's a pretty remarkable drop in the growth rate of hospitalization. When I made my comments about impending wave it was around the first of the month, not long after social distancing and other shut downs rolled into high gear, but a couple of weeks before it bore fruit, to mix a metaphor. Since then, the week over growth rate in hospitalization has fallen by 67% after spending the weeks prior to those efforts growing geometrically. Which is all to say social distancing across this country has been a phenomenal success and I don't feel anything other than grateful that Georgia and Florida are doing better than I had anticipated....

I hope they don't eff it up...

What are you talking about? William Bryan gave a presentation on their findings. Im sure they spoke behind the scenes before this. Trump wasnt throwing out "ideas".
