Conservatives focus on responsibilities
Liberals focus who we are not
Conservatives focus on who we are
Liberals focus on what we haven't accomplished
Conservatives focus on what we have accomplished
Liberals focus on what is wrong with the world
Conservatives focus on what's right with the world
Liberals focus on what divides us
Conservatives focus on what unites us
Liberals are about standing their ground
Conservatives are about the common ground
Liberals are about being right
Conservatives are about doing right
Liberals... what's in it for me?
Conservatives...what's in it for us?

Both noble goals on their face and they both are a part of almost everyone's beliefs, but take to either to their authoritarian extreme and they have disastrous consequences. And we are a lot closer to the extreme left than the extreme right at this point in our national politics.

A conservative, who is a non believer, doesn't join a church and simply goes on with their lives.
A liberal who is a non believer wants to take down any reference to religion in any aspect of life and demands to be respected for it and will go thru life miserable if ignored.
A conservative, who has no interest in firearms, doesn't even think of buying one and simply goes on with their life not even noticing a gun shop as he walks by.
A liberal who doesn't like guns, wants to take them away from everyone else, and will be miserable until that is done.
A conservative who chooses to be a vegetarian, walks past the meat section of the store--without noticing it--and buys their vegetables and whatnot, and goes home and continues to live their life unbothered.
A liberal who is a vegan wants to change everyone else's diet.
A conservative who thinks certain words are rude, will simply refrain from using that language when talking in public. They then go on with living their lives without even noticing a "controversy".
A liberal, who finds certain words offensive, wants to ban those words and call them "hate speech", and force penalties on their use.
There are many examples.
