We are witnessing the fruits of the US education system
We are. It's sad and still somewhat shocking to see.

List a few big ones that you think are valid.

In 1975, the median sales price of a new home in the United States was $38,100.
quote:
The current national median price for an existing home is $429,300, according to the latest May 2026 data from the National Association of Realtors (NAR).
Aubie, surely you understand comparing current median prices for new homes to the median for new homes 50 years ago doesn't really mean much? Wouldn't you have to normalize the home before making the comparison, because clearly the median home today is nothing like the median home back then.
Same for pretty much all similar arguments. I mean, healthcare was f'n dirt cheap back in the day of leaches and bloodletting in comparison to today's healthcare costs.
And to be clear, I'm not arguing there aren't challenges and things out of whack from time-to-time. But reality is life is better and easier for Americans today than it ever has been in the past.

Besides her radical politics, what's really scary is that she is relatively young. So she will be Congress for way too many years.

Hell, why should they?
They can openly brag about how much they despise this country ….and get elected for it.
this is the part that just blows me away. I do not have the ability to fathom how this is happening in this country.

Also, I’ve never voted for a Democrat in my lifetime or a socialist and that includes the ‘Republican’ ones. While I totally disagree with socialism as a solution to these problems, I think you should try to understand why people voted that way.
Unfortunately the people who vote that way just accept media talking points with questioning any relevant details.
For example, modern homes have anout 50% more floor space
* Twice as many bathrooms in many cases
* Much better insulation and lower energy use
* Far stricter building, electrical, and fire safety codes
* Better accessibility and storage
* Internet wiring, smart-home capability, and more electrical capacity
Restrictive zoning (driven by liberal policies) has also driven up home values particularly on the west coast. More of that is not the solution to the described problem.

What threat? no one elected is a communist so where is this threat coming from?
Are you under the false impression that socialism has ever succeeded anywhere? It has failed everywhere it’s been tried with tens of millions of dead in the 20th century alone. Now capitalism on the other hand has done more to lift people out of poverty than any other system.
