One gentleman who was recently paroled after serving 24 years shared his story with me. He was sent to a boy’s home when he was 12 or 14 for trying to fight his dad while the dad was beating up the guy’s mom. While he was at the boys home, he was gang raped by the older boys there.
Naturally, he was filled with rage after that. He wanted to hurt other the people the like he was hurt while in state custody. He didn’t want to rape anyone, but he wanted them to be punished. He ended up committing petty crimes and ultimately committed an armed robbery, which landed him that long sentence.
When he got out, he got a job and received his first paycheck on a prepaid debit card. He brought it to me and asked me how the money comes out of the card. He had been locked up for 24 years and no one thought to teach him anything about the modern world. Forget him trying to figure out how to work a smartphone.
I’m sure it super easy to shite on anonymous criminals and assume that all of them savagely murdered little kids from the comfort of your computer chairs, but that’s not the case.

I guess you just have a little more trust in the government than I do.

It's not.
These people lack any sort of integrity.
They'd gladly install an authoritarian government if said authoritarian agreed with all of their political stances.

Well golly-gee-fking-whiz, I mean, your anecdotal, unverifiable story of this ONE dude CERTAINLY makes me rethink my lying eyes and personal life experience....
You are acting like what you are: A soft, overly emotional, logic-rejecting woman.
You and those like you should NEVER be allowed to mold the minds of children.
You are the disease, not the cure.

You Liberal women beat us to that by allowing Biden and the Democrats to take control....

What are the left's most common arguments against the 2nd amendment?

Crackers bad, thugs good is the one that seems to be most prevalent.

I a pro-death penalty.
especially in cases like this with video evidence.
I do think it’s hilarious how conservatives pretend they support the constitution but like not the 8th amendment.

You know the government doesn't unilaterally convict and sentence these people, correct?

Of course, the Left-most third of the spectrum is utterly convinced that it is impossible for him to EVER rise above those events and that he should forever be forgiven for all transgressions against society.
Both of them make the 1/3 in the middle want to smash their skulls against a wall.

Is anyone advocating for the death penalty for that "12 or 14" year old kid?

Victims‘ families in these cases should have the option of requesting that the murderer be sentenced to be locked in a warehouse with the victim’s family and friends for a few hours and let them do whatever they want to the murderer.

Now, jury trials, to be sure, are the best of the options. That said, we also have to just be candid and recognize that juries are not exactly paragons of perfection. We know from common sense and repeated studies that if you have to be on trial for multiple murder, you'd probably rather be.....
A pretty woman instead of a man
An pleasantly attractive person over someone who is hidious
Non-threatening in appearance vs 6'6" 290 with tattoos on your face.
And so on. It would be nice if juries didn't let such things sway them, but I don't have any solution for it and they aren't gonna stop it.

does brutalizing someone else resurrect the deceased?
Warehousing them outside of society keeps them from doing it to someone else.
We need to step outside the tit-for-tat argument and move towards a prison-as-segregation model.
There is a certain percentage of the population that is not fit to live among civilized humans. The issue is figuring out who they are. However, when they reveal themselves, they must be sectioned off from law-abiding citizens, potentially forever.
I am mostly talking about violent criminals, including robberies involving weapons. If you choose to attack another human with a weapon, then you forfeit your freedom.

Public hanging 10 days after conviction colonial style would seem to work. There is not a shadow of a doubt that these animals murdered with a sense of depravity.

What percentage of rape victims don't turn into career criminals? 99.99999 percent?
There's lots of evil in the world. Lots of people are wronged, many way worse than your totally real anecdotal story. Nearly all of them do not turn into criminals.
