Great.

I don't trust the government.

Who's suggesting there needs to be an alternative?

I’m not against the death penalty in principle but I’m against a government this corrupt having the power to kill people

Don’t get in a Bible debate with me, you will lose.

There’s a time for mercy and grace on this planet and it has been handed to the courts of the law to choose. We aren’t talking eternal salvation, this is a discussion of criminal punishment on planet earth.

Which you shouldn't be concerning yourself with.

Isn't that just an alternative?

Why are you trying to come up with alternatives?

Ok, but people seem to pick and choose what should be legal or illegal, based on what the Bible says. So in the case of the death penalty, we shouldn’t listen to what the Bible says on something as serious as taking someone’s life.

It’s not that I’m defending people who commit these crimes, it’s just this is a serious judgement, to judge whether someone should live or die in my opinion. We can lock them up, but making an order to kill someone isn’t a Christian thing to do in my opinion. I get it, it’s not fair that a murderer took it upon themselves to take someone’s life, but Jesus wasn’t preaching that we go out and get revenge, or even kill people. Jewish law, yes. New law, no. Someone mentioned eye for an eye earlier. Jesus clearly states that this is not what we should live by.

What would the headlines read? How many shoe and liquor stores would be empty?

From one of your gotcha articles:

quote:

The sharp reduction in targeted crimes reflects the fact that health-focused first responders are less likely to report individuals they serve as criminal offenders and the spillover benefits of the program (e.g., reducing crime during hours when the program was not in operation).

In other words the criminals commit more crimes when the watch dog on duty is the one that won't report them. That's not less crime, that more crime in a specific window that just doesn't get reported to police.

I realize that now after reading the thread. It's further interesting how I picked one she posted at random and it seems to actually contradict what she claims.

I don't come to the poli board often, but once in a while just to see how crazy the loony left has gotten. It's the same reason why I occasionally read news from left media sources, just so get a perspective on how crazy they've become.
My conclusion is that cubbies has to be a troll right? Is it actually possible for someone to be so illogical and unrealistic? She would literally get robbed and then apologize to the robber and say it's not their fault.
