Yes, because when I see the value of my dollar deflating at an insane rate

The measure of the value of the dollar domestically is the CPI. According to that index, the dollar is devaluing slowly, not at "an insane rate."

The DXY measures the value of the dollar relative to other countries. According to it, the US dollar strengthened quite a bit in 2022-2023 and has fluctuated up and down since then.

my college aged son will now more than likely not be able to afford the American dream

That all depends on what is considered "The American Dream." I think it's much more useful to consider that your son will have the most comfortable, luxurious, least manual labor intensive lifestyle in the history of the world. That's true even if he ends up living in Section 8 government housing.

quote:

still no one held accountable from the Epstein files

That's completely untrue. Officials in Europe and Norway have been arrested and many lawyers, CEOs, etc. have lost their jobs over being found in the files.

If what you mean is that no one here has been arrested and prosecuted, you're kind of a moron if you expected that, aren't you? Those files go back 20+ years. That means they've been sitting on the shelf during Bush, Obama, Trump1, Biden, and Trump2. If there was anything in them that was actionable that implicated anybody high up in the Ruling Class, it went through a shredder decades ago.

And you know what? It's always been that way. While the US was creating the highest standard of living for the most people with the least racism and the most redress for government violations of civil rights, while we were driving the technological revolution that took us from horses and buggies to going to the moon in three generations, politicians were doing heinous stuff and covering it up. You just didn't ever find out about it then.

the makings of another never ending war

Why don't we at least get past the six week mark before declaring a "forever war?"

quote:

soulless corrupt politicians on both sides of the isle

Again, has always been the case and it didn't stop our rise to the wealthiest, most comfortable nation in the history of the planet with the most civil rights and the least racism and sexism ever.

quote:

the inevitable financial collapse of our financial system

One day the universe is going to burn out, too. It will be nothing but a cinder. You better start wringing your hands about that too.

quote:

I at least can sleep better at night knowing that we are pissing away even more money by returning to the moon.

.04% of the federal budget. It won't break the bank, I promise.

quote:

As if the 1st moon landing was actually real.

And that's just you announcing that you are a moron for all the world to see.

Now, I did what you asked. Are you ready to stop whining?

NASA is accelerating plans to build a permanent moon base at the lunar South Pole, with construction expected to begin in the late 2020s and continue into the 2030s, fueled by a $20 billion investment over seven years. The goal is to establish a sustained human presence on the moon in the next few years. SpaceX will be a big contributor to that.

Awesome.

We're still not going to live on the moon.

People always say this and it's technically true, but any of those things could have been accomplished without actually going anywhere. Just work the problem like a hypothetical. That's what they had to do with 95% of the advances they made anyway...they didn't figure most of the solutions to problems out during or after the fact, they anticipated and figured them out beforehand.

How would a communication satellite work on earth? It has to be in space to function. And a rocket has to deploy it there. The rocket used to launch it was built on its rocket predecessors.

Knowledge of the LEO or deep space environments only come from having instruments "in" the environment. To deploy a satellite without understanding the environment it has to survive in, would result in failure.

We do have to go somewhere.
