Trump acted lawfully

quote:

The Department of Homeland Security, “correctly, and at a minimum reasonably, concluded that DACA is unlawful,” Justice Department lawyers wrote in a brief submitted to the Supreme Court late Monday.

quote:

The Supreme Court will begin to hear arguments in November. A ruling is expected in the presidential election year

quote:

A decision in favor of Trump would allow for the president to deport more than one million young adults residing in the U.S. under DACA protection

No way in hell SCOTUS allows this to happen, regardless of what the law actually says... They will come up with some bullshite excuse for their activist purpose...

I'm hoping this settles the 14th once and for all and we all know WHAT the intent of the 14th was/is.

I mean... its almost like Congress should create the legislation for a DACA program, like Trump asked them to do 18 months ago.

It is unbelievable. Trump is trying to strip executive power that Obama exerted, and return it to the legislative branch, where it belongs, and he is the bad guy.

We need the MAGA DOJ to bring a 14th Amendment case.

Let’s settle this- anchor babies are not citizens

quote:

Critics claim that anyone born in the United States is automatically a U.S. citizen, even if their parents are here illegally. But that ignores the text and legislative history of the 14th Amendment, which was ratified in 1868 to extend citizenship to freed slaves and their children. The 14th Amendment doesn’t say that all persons born in the U.S. are citizens. It says that “[a]ll persons born or naturalized in the United States and subject to the jurisdiction thereof” are citizens. That second, critical, conditional phrase is conveniently ignored or misinterpreted by advocates of “birthright” citizenship.

They will have to essentially rewrite the Constitution and declare that an Executive Order has the force of a LAW and cannot be reversed or undone by a subsequent President.

Not even John Roberts will cede total Legislative authority to the Executive to protect illegals.

OTOH, if SCOTUS does do this, Katy bar the door because Trump will become the dictator they fear and will be dropping EOs like sick beats.

Yeah. Imagine the precedent that is set if one president can use executive power to institute a direction, but another president can’t reverse it. That should technically be impossible.

You can only justify that if you’re being political and ignoring law.

John roberts will side with the liberal wing.

He lets public opinion write his own.

By the way this won’t be an issue that favors trump. Many republicans and Dems favor amnesty for Daca. You can disagree with polls but it’s by a wide margin.

The Don simply needs to issue an EO right now ending this. It was created by EO, it can end by one.

Birth-right citizenship needs to be addressed as well.

If Trump gets this win it will force democrats to work with him on immigration. It’s not his fault that democrats refuse work with republicans on a bill for DACA kids and immigration. Republicans tried to pass a DACA/immigration bill and democrats voted it down , because it would only Allow good working DACA kids to stay . They want all the dead weight to stay too .
