George Floyd had 11 ng/mL of fentanyl in his system. That fentanyl is some bad stuff. Mr. Floyd's breathing problems and death resulted from the effects of the drug. The autopsy indicated he died of cardiopulmonary arrest.
The officers were just doing their job. The practice of the knee on the head was standard procedure used to immobilize an arrestee. No way these officers should face any punitive action.

There woulda been sparks here and there but not the shut show we’ve seen all year. The George Floyd death was a game changer in that just like Rodney King was. I’m not defending Floyd the guy was a POS, I’m just saying frick that cop for sitting on his damned neck for 8 minutes which led to all this crap. I seriously don’t think it would have been nearly this severe without that video.

Look into Excited Delirium Syndrome (ExDS) and its symptoms and realize it's pretty common when one is on drugs and being arrested. Floyd exhibited ALL the classic signs and officers are trained to deal directly with ExDS, it's a fairly common phenomenon that can lead to sudden death.
Floyd was without a doubt experiencing ExDS, in my opinion as a federal LEO. The autopsy almost proves this, and the officers responded accordingly for the most part. If it were ME making the arrest, I wouldn't have kneeled on his neck - but that's what those officers were trained to do, or placing a knee on the back instead (which is what I would've done).
Someone experiencing ExDS HAS to be restrained - and in an open space - until they can calm down or else they will continue to escalate and spiral further out of control, as will their BP and pulse.
Google it and do some light reading on the signs and symptoms, then watch the Floyd video in full again. Then read how officers are trained to counteract ExDS.
Here's a tidbit for you, since you're either too lazy to research or don't care to actually inform yourself of the facts:
The presentation of excited delirium occurs with a sudden onset, with symptoms of bizarre and/or aggressive behavior, shouting, paranoia, panic, violence toward others, unexpected physical strength and hyperthermia.
Can you die from excited delirium?
In approximately 10 percent of cases, according to the literature, the person with excited deliriummay die suddenly. The heart or breathing simply stops.

Truth is they don't know how to treat ExDS in the field.
There are instances of death involving retrained and unrestrained subjects.
When ExDS sets in... its a roll of the dice....there is just not enough knowledge on how to handle it at this time.
