Great Britain's National Health Service, which is meant to provide “free” universal healthcare, is collapsing
I know Jimmy Kimmel and the other Hollywood assclowns and Liz Warren like to blab on and on about how our healthcare system is inhumane and kills people because they can't afford insulin and stuff and if we just went to a European/Canadian system that everybody would be totally healthy.
THIS. IS. UNADULTERATED. bullshite.
I have multiple friends in Canada and EU healthcare systems. One just died of cancer. One has a very ill son that will never grow up. The ordeals they go through are just as bad, if not worse.
The friend that just died could not get an MRI fast enough. He waited days and days. He spent a week in the hospital before they could get him in. Like WTF man he needed one that hour!!!
My friend who's son is sick gets new doctors from time to time. There is no "interview your doctor" process. You get a letter from the ministry of health, it tells you to visit a new doctor, you go to that doctor. Never met him before but STFU and go.
I have another friend that is on a five year waiting list for a nasal outpatient procedure I once had "because it's not critical". Dude I paid $1500 and insurance covered the rest. Doctor advised on it, I went in a week or two later, finished. I breathe and sleep better.
Socialized healthcare is a total crock.

Correct. And it will be the same here.
Except in the US, you don’t have to be rich to have private healthcare….yet. But if you leftist jackals get your wish then kiss the whole thing goodbye.

so much of this is just bad outcomes that exist in every healthcare system. none of them are perfect.

It may be bad outcomes, but the current message is "socialized medicine will prevent bad outcomes, only good outcomes will happen" and that's the problem. We are getting pushed into public healthcare which removes self-determination and that's not how we do things here.
Also I reject that notion that those are bad outcomes, especilly with regard to my friend with the sick child. He goes through the ringer twice a year. It's a bad system.

Same as the education argument when in fact there is no correlation between money spent and outcomes when looking at urban schools.
What?
Urban schools in the UK do much, much better than non-urban schools. And the argument here is that rural and non-urban areas do worse because they don't get enough resources.
It's a big criticism in the UK because schools in cities like London in the UK are disproportionately outperforming other areas and sending kids to Oxford/Cambridge.
I'm not sure Labour in the UK has ever said that urban areas need more resources. They'd be laughed at because cities in the UK disproportionately get most of the resources.
And schools in urban areas in the UK do better at A-level and the argument is that the government has heavily focused on the education of kids in the capital as opposed to anywhere else.
London vs the rest of the country is a very big divide.
