The Brits have come up with a new term for the homeless.

They call them “Rough Sleepers” lol. The new Prime Minister has promised to end “Rough Sleeping”.

That is not a new term. Rough sleeping means that they don’t have a sleeping bag or tent. These are the people you see sleeping a park bench with few belongings other than what they are wearing.

No matter if someone is sleeping on a sidewalk in the open air, in a tent, or sleeping at a shelter somewhere every night. Homeless is homeless. Trying to assign levels to homeless people is just trying to put lipstick on a pig.

When a term is changed to something nicer the new nicer term will eventually be deemed inappropriate and changed to something else. 'Homeless' was the nicer word created about 70 years ago to replace 'bum.' That's what we called those people when I was a kid.

It’s stupid but it’s not new. It’s been a thing over there for a while.
