Which utopian policies? I’m all for discussion on policy, finding compromises to push the country towards the exceptionalism we claim. The hero worship, though, doesn’t forward that and with it we only continue this zero sum game approach to politics.

I believe in merit based employment and promotion. Under Affirmative Action guidelines candidates must be qualified for the positions being filled.

You’re going to need to point to some specific policies here. I’m not for sexualizing minors, and sexually explicit material should be restricted, and as far as US policy goes it is.

Can you tell which books, movies or media you are referring to? We could probably have better dialogue then.

Covid lockdowns were an appropriate response to the severity of the pandemic in its initial stages, and the US’s policies were actually fairly relaxed compared to the rest of the world.

I find the antimask sentiment ridiculous. Much like ivermectin, its efficacy is debatable, but its harm is negligible.

I believe in the efficacy of the vaccine in preventing serious, negative health outcomes related to Covid, because I’ve experienced that in my family. I’ve also lost colleagues to Covid, people that weren’t vaccinated.

I also supported the availability of Ivermectin for treatment of Covid, not because I believe in its efficacy in treating Covid, I don’t, but because I didn’t see the harm in at least trying it.

I believe in the “well regulated” aspect of the 2nd amendment, and I’m sure we disagree on that point.

If your view is that stricter gun legislation is a utopian policy that has no benefit, I’ll point to the countries with stricter gun legislation and the result on gun violence that legislation has had. In my view it is neither utopian or lacking in benefit.

I was there on this board and saw the attitudes that caused what happened on January 6. Is unfortunate that this site has deleted those days of saber rattling. In my view the Trump team attempted to subvert the peaceful transition of power through mob violence. It failed luckily, but it is absolutely worthy of investigation, and I hope those responsible are held to account if the facts of the investigation indicate that is the proper course.
