Why would someone call themselves a lawyer if they are not?

Seems jill biden supporters have no issues calling herself a doctor and giving out advice on vaccines.

Trump should’ve found someone who was at least trained in strategic communications for the role.

Yup.

If you're going with someone who isn't trained in strategic communications, at least give them a tough interview or an audition. Looks like they skipped that.

How can the bar do anything to her if she isn’t licensed?

Outside of what I would call minimally invasive stuff they can't do much unless a former employer decides to file fraud charges if she held herself out to them as being an attorney, though her employers would unlikely do that.

The real issue is making her basically admit she isn't an attorney. I personally don't give but maybe an 1/8th of a shite about that, but it is very clear she gives a whole truckload of shits about it.

She has a stacking issue, a soft scandal, and her opening remarks looked like a 9th grader giving their first speech in a public speaking class.

She might right the ship (if she is around long enough), but like a QB that throws 5 INTs in his first game, the odds are not in her favor.

Well I don't give two s*hits about that.

Well it really doesn't matter what you think, it's against the law in every state

Why is it different? In both cases, physician and lawyer, you have to be licensed by a state before you can practice your profession. In both cases, the academic degree is insufficient to confer professional privileges.

Firstly, the second you graduate with an MD you are a doctor. However, you are NOT a licensed physician.

Secondly, there are no laws that I’m aware that state anything about having to be licensed to call yourself a “doctor” like there are for attorneys

As a person with a JD, who is a licensed attorney as well, I prefer the title "doctor" myself.

Of course layers would be the only ones who could weasel the system to get a doctorate before a masters.

And sayed has called himself a physician which hasn’t garnered any scrutiny. The Jill Biden example is also a good comparison. There’s been plenty of threads debating which doctorates are allowed to refer to themselves as “doctor” but everyone agrees an EDD is nothing more than a cheat code.
