to admit she went to law school to get an Mrs. degree and she spent the last 15 yrs raising a family while dabbling in some part time gigs to avoid being labeled a stay at home mom.

Not that there is anything wrong with that.

California (like Louisiana) licenses you as an “attorney and counselor.”

California gives you a wall plaque with those words on it, but its license is to practice law. Indeed, California”s on rules of Professional conduct use the term “lawyer”. See Rule 5.5

It seems the state is only pursuing serious actions against those with a bit more though. Recent cases are when people had signage with Law offices and were soliciting clients (eg landlord tenant, immigration, etc). anything more than censure will probably require more context

I was specifically asking about a program in CA which Boar alluded to.

If you haven't already looked it up it's called the Portfolio Bar Examination. A pilot program that allows people to work under a supervising attorney and then submit a portfolio of their work at the end of a certain period in lieu of sitting for the Bar Exam.

I did about 8 hours ago. El-Sayed can't practice medicine because he isn't licensed to do so, just as Zacharia can't practice law because she isn't licensed to do so.

Wall Street Journal reporting that Zacharia took the California Bar Exam in 2011 and that she failed. Citing "someone with direct knowledge," so take it FWIW.

If true, NOT a big deal on its own. California Bar Exam is tough. No need to lie about it though.

Looks like it. I hadn't heard about it until today and when I was reading on it earlier it sounded like a program that was ongoing. It wouldn't have mattered at all in relation to this stuff either way. I just thought it was humorous.
