I know … it should’ve happened years ago; that argument is irrefutable.

But I’m grateful af Paxton is going scorched Earth now, in the face of a useless and incompetent federal government.

Fox News
quote:

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is suing a Catholic non-governmental organization operating in the state and wants to have its registration revoked, alleging that it is encouraging illegal immigration and operating a stash house for those entering illegally.

Paxton has sued Annunciation House — a Catholic nonprofit set up in the 1980s — and is seeking to revoke its registration to operate in Texas.

quote:

Paxton’s lawsuit accuses the group of "openly and flagrantly violating many provisions of law in a systemic fashion." Specifically, it accuses it of providing shelter to illegal immigrants who have evaded law enforcement, of encouraging illegal immigration, of engaging in human smuggling and of operating a "stash house."

"Annunciation House appears to be engaged in the operation of an illegal stash house by potentially allowing others to use its real estate to engage in human smuggling," the lawsuit says.

Interesting how there’s a ton in Texas, but everything in Cali stays on 1-2 highways.

Good. But I wish Texas had started this litigation back in 2021, 14 million migrants ago.

Do you think the Catholic Church is doing this because they are losing members and need to stuff their coffers again?

They are powerful enough to pull strings in DC for sure to get them to open the border.

Maybe it isn't who we think it is causing this chaos.

SlowFag will be along shortly to tell you why the Texas AG doesn’t have the legal authority to do this but every democrat AG who goes after Trump with lawfare totally has the authority to do so.

Purported Christians supporting the punishing of a Christian church for following Christ’s example as it pertains to fellow Christians and refugees.

This board proves that shitty dumb people don’t understand themselves or the concept of logical consistency.

Exactly. These illegals will come to their church and donate money later on.

I tend to think the rationale is multifaceted.

I’m not Catholic … but a brief, online search shows The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) opposes “enforcement only" immigration policies ( United States Catholic Bishops). So there’s clearly a philosophical reason.

Also … Today, about two thirds of Catholic Charities’ annual spending comes from government sources (more than half a billion dollars of federal grants alone) ( Philanthropy Roundtable). The US Catholic Church is basically on fedgov’s payroll. I can’t think of any entity that stands to gain more from illegal immigration than a political party/Presidential administration that, via an unchecked border, adds more voters to their membership roster.

Every illegal who’s been interviewed about which Presidential candidate they support has given the same answer, and it ain’t a Republican.
