My SJW cousin posted the following on FB:

quote:

does anyone else have really bad eco-anxiety? i just learned the word. it means constant fear over what's happening with the planet and how it's going to affect everyone, whether or not to bring kids into this world with climate change accelerating, etc. it's always on my mind but i mostly see everyone acting like everything is normal.

A couple responses:

quote:

I have this. It’s why I haven’t brought more kids into the world so far. It’s tough... they’re actually talking to kids Zeke’s age (9) in Berkeley public schools about massive health crisis and die off due to climate change by 2029. Zeke has vented to me about it and it’s crushing for kids and hard to navigate for parents.

quote:

No joke, I started worrying as a kid when I started watching Captain Planet. Then I got older and realized that reality was so much worse than the cartoon villains on that show.

What do these tards think is going to happen? Honest question, what are the supposed impending dire consequences we are all supposed to be oh-so afraid of?
A few inches of sea level rise?

Shes a loon, so if it weren't climate change then she'd have anxiety about some other non-issue, but it pisses me off to think my children could one day worry for one minute second about this garbage due to constant media and school inundation.

frick you Al Gore.

I refuse to believe this actually exists.

Hrmmmm, maybe we should be playing this up more. Would be better if all these people stopped having kids. By the time they realize the world isn’t ending, they will be too old to reproduce.

If climate change is a end all for you then it is hopeless. You are finished since the climate is constantly changing. It is always getting warmer or drier. Wetter, colder. Ice ages follow heat waves. El Nino and his sister. I just worry about having substantial spells of 55 to 75 degree weather during the night time summer months to keep my tomatoes fruiting.

These folks have way bigger issues to come to terms with than climate change...

In 1970, Walter Cronkite told us on the Evening News that we were all going to die by 1980 because of polluted air.

I wouldn’t have thought that his condition was real if I hadn’t seen it up close. My daughter has been propagandized to think this way. It really and truly is like finding out your kid was infected with some disease.

I tried to prepare them - to “inoculate” them, but my efforts were inadequate. I didn’t want to be “that parent” who ranted and raved about the brain washing taking place in school. I didn’t want them to push me away, and I hoped they would be savvy enough to hear my reasonable objections to this or that climate change hysterical claim that came on t.v., to then be able to form a smart opinion themselves. But I was unsuccessful. My daughter has “eco-anxiety” hugely.

It’s no wonder, really. She’s a very intelligent and caring person who is also young and inexperienced. She’s been bombarded with global warming hysteria her whole life. From every cartoon series to the constant virtue signaling crap on social media to all of her liberal teachers in high school and college.

She knows that I don’t “believe in global warming” (which is actually much more complicated that) and she has avoided the subject with me. But recently she told me that she was feeling depressed because of how bad off the planet is and how no one seems to be doing anything about it.

I started to have a conversation with her and very gently get her to see that there is so much to be hopeful about. I told her that there is a lot of good things going on in the world such as the incredible reduction in worldwide poverty.

I think this requires a slow process of de-programming. I don’t think you can go full bore right from the start. I’m starting with the obvious stuff.

Very little will happen to the US. We have resources available to mitigate most consequences. Many places in the world aren't so fortunate.

Some people are just able to see further than their own backyard

(But the people you are quoting are just future doomsday prepper tards )

It sounds "rosy" to me. With the hysteria, they should not be entrusted with rearing children. Maybe mass suicide is in their future.
When is the next visit of the Hale Bopp Comet?
