You're the one who is delusional if you think he will be beholden to the DNC. The idea that Phil Bredesen would owe Chuck Schumer anything for getting elected in Tennessee is downright comical.

I think you lack a full understanding of the Democrat party.

He will be allowed some wiggle room in certain areas but on any key vote his loyalty to the democrat party will be demanded. To think that a person elected to the us senate as a democrat is free to vote as he/her chooses is, frankly, incredibly naive.

If that was the case, I'd think 90% of the posters on this forum are dumb, but I think there are several very smart people here, many of whom I regularly disagree with.

Another bit of comedy.

All Phil Bredesen has to do is run on his record...especially on bringing jobs to Tennessee. He doesn't have to pretend to be anything other than what he always has been. Sometimes voters will vote for the person who they think will actually get shite done.

You guys really have no clue about him other than the D beside his name, do you? It's ok...you can admit it.

Why is your god still a Democrat then? He must be an idiot to still be aligned with a party he differs with so much.

He would NOT vote with the Rs on any meaningful legislation. FACT

Only with Chuck Shumer's permission.

DC is very different from Tennessee and DC democrat leadership have a stranglehold on the party.

Not a single vulnerable red state democrat voted for the tax cuts.

The blue dog democrat in DC is a myth.

Bro, you're falling for the same bullshite so many Louisiana republicans did when JBE won the election for Governor and he has turned out to be nothing more than a classic tax and spend democrat that's anti business.

We do know that D besides his name will really force his hand in DC in a way that it couldn't in Tennessee.

You're gullible as frick.

Tennessee should be 1 of many good senate races . Florida, West Virginia , Montana , Arizona and maybe Michigan should be good battles . Republicans need to find a better way to tie the democrats running to the leaders that are far left .
